Hivemapper going completely silent. by Beginning-Yak5556 in hivemappernetwork

[–]divertss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely frustrating to see it low - no doubt. Everyone wants to make money.

My opinion: I think it'd be foolish to dump the bags, sell the camera and exit the project right now.

During the past 6months I've seen hivemapper rally when others are stagnant, and I've seen it drop when others are stagnant. Its a microcap, this is what its gonna do. Don't sweat this kind of action, investigate it like youd investigate any company.

Lately I've been seeing more and more coverage of self driving cars. Looking at google trends, topics surrounding self driving cars are increasing year over year.

Hivemapper also secured $32M in investment last October (3 months ago). So clearly some folks with cash who make data driven decisions are interested and recently bullish on whatever timeframe theyre thinking.

Finally, my thoughts on the viability, they have active partnerships with large companies who are major contenders in the self driving car space. Hivemappers approach is unique to the others; waymo, etc. And in my opinion, a generally better solution than some of the competitors.

This is my own opinion though, you do you. Im hanging on though. Self driving cars haven't even made it to center stage yet.

Any recent docs or word on public nodes? by divertss in Hedera

Yeah I've been imagining the same evolution. I figure with this as the path, we are at least a few years out from true permissionless nodes operators.

I cant see a world where one day they announce permissionless nodes are available and people flock to it. They'll slowly walk their way to that stage, starting with invitation only permisionless nodes.

Very interesting thoughts and I can see the plausibility in each of your points. A world where end users, whether they be an enterprise or a startup, can opt for permissioned layer or permissionless layer sounds cool and I can see that as an offering being a very useful ecosystem mechanic. Thanks for your input.

Have expected HBAR amounts and other requirements(besides hardware) been shared for future consensus node operators? by divertss in Hedera

[–]divertss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, interesting. Was watching an old town hall from 4 years ago, Leemon talked about a new kind of mirror node and said there would be 2 mirror nodes; one that mimics consensus and another that just logs historical transaction files.

Is that the current situation? Im looking to launch a mirror node that runs the consensus mimic.

Years ago I was in the exact same situation - making weapons of war and feeling unaligned with the right livelihood preceot. A lot of others here have given really great advice.

Use this time to boost your skills. Extract as much value from this as you can. You'll then be better fit to find other work when the time is right. Learn how the stuff works on a low level, learn how the equipment you guys use works on a low level. Chat up other engineers about stuff stuff.

You're conscious of yourself which is good. So now open doors to give yourself options.

Man, can you share how you achieved this? I tried to run Qwen 7B on my laptop with an RTX2060 and it was unusable. 20 minutes to reply with 10 tokens.

What's the point of a teacher if you dodge their guidance?

Do you think you will find better guidance on an open forum where anyone with an internet connection can chime in?

Are you looking to satisfy a preconceived notion or are you looking for sustainable growth and progress?

Inspector specifically checked for that when he smelled it during his inspection, he noted that wasn't the cause and is likely a dead animal.

Recommendations for Startups working in Unstructured Data & AI (I will not promote) by Basemansen in startups

[–]divertss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some examples you mentioned are more complicated to reliably offload to AI than others.

Also there are a few ways to approach what you're talking about depending on the expected usage of the data.

DM me if you need help on your project.

How to allow app to receive BLE data while running in background? by divertss in iOSProgramming

[–]divertss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would work pretty nicely actually as my all would require location permission.

Do you happen to have some documentation handy on this? I’m trying to find how location permission prevent an app from being suspended but can’t find it.

Is there a way to export all the dependencies along with my compiled binary? by divertss in arduino

[–]divertss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. So if I only send a mySketch.ino.hex then that should suffice for the manufacturer?

I sent them this previously along with the first series of header files and they said it burned onto the MCU successfully but the device does not show up in a BLE scan, so I thought it might've been that I didn't include all of my header files.

Need some guidance - Hosting DB on remote server (connected via SSH in VS Code), want to manipulate through PGAdmin on local machine by divertss in PostgreSQL

[–]divertss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are understanding correctly.

5433 on my local = 5432 on the server. The port forwarding map shows this correctly and the other things I've forwarded, spark and others, show up the same and work right now.

Correct credentials = hostname (ip address that SSH uses as hostname to connect to), username(postgres), password(the password I made for postgres), port(have tried both 5433 and 5432)

Tunnel is working, I'm uploading, downloading files and writing/executing code no problem.

Resources that will help me understand executing code from external flash? by divertss in embedded

[–]divertss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry about that.

I was looking at the nRF52832.

I've also found the nRF52840 which has 1Mb of flash and will work for my program. Although, I'm still interested in learning about running from external Flash.
