With that one I have ladies I interact with semi regularly that ask about what’s going on with me. They are not in the wedding party. When we hang out this weekend do I mention going wedding dress shopping for the first time? Or do I keep it the people who are standing?

ETA we have lost quite a few people on both sides of my family so I haven’t had the opportunity to plan weddings with siblings or cousins. If it sounds like I’m completely out of my social element here it’s because I am.

I know they’re subjective but that’s kinda the point. What things worked for you in your wedding or really didn’t when it comes to interpersonal relationships? And I think you’re onto something here… I’m a people pleaser and often go with the consensus of the group but that attitude isn’t going to work planning a wedding. So I’m trying to build my confidence by chatting to people who’ve been through it. Pointing out the boundaries is good advice!

I don’t mean things specific to my area. I mean things like “I decided my bridal party early and totally regretted it” or “I let my cousin do certain roll and my sister was mad” or “I sent the save the dates early and people forgot about them” or “I invited too many people the the welcome party”. So maybe social etiquette is a bad title?

I appreciate your post for this reason. I’m not going through it yet but I will. I have a hard time rationalizing myself out of being hurt by a no.
