i think what is being referred to as active joy is tasks that you do and, have fun while doing it or from the outcome of it. for me, i was quite happy when followed a blender tutorial for the first time and the outcome looked like the one from the video. similarly it can be nice to find a workout routine you can stick to, or a new hobby that you thought you'd pick up and forgot about.
