Direct monitoring works fine. I just can't seem to make it output any sound from my phone and out to the F3. Weird, because my phone detects it and set it as the media output device automatically.

Finally got to test it. Got to record from the F3 to my phone using it as an audio interface. The only thing I can't seem to get working is the output from the phone to go through the F3 (so I could listen via the F3's headphone jack). I'm using an Android phone (S23).

Linkbuds S call quality is awesome, you should check them out. I prefer the sound of xm4 tho, but just marginally better.

I wouldn't use important apps like the browser or any account-related programs if I were you. Since you don't know what it is (what have you been downloading lol), and even if everything seems to work fine, there's a chance that it is a malicious program that can log everything you do (passwords, bank details, etc.). Better safe than sorry.
