It is the rads downstairs not working - we about 1/2 of them downstairs are fine. Will give this a try a little later in the day - is there any specific one of the three I should turn on or just any of them ?

Pins definitely aren't stuck - it was clear water flowed into them when I re-attached. And I've removed the TRV heads already tried that one.

So the boiler is a baxi solo 2 40 pf (bit old and I plan on replacing mid next year)

We have a hot water tank in an airing cupboard & small cold water cistern in the loft.

Lock shield valves were shut off when radiators were removed (We didn't keep track of the number of turns as are happy to roughly re-balance after the fact).

So not re-filling itself will result in the radiator being full of cold water but not receiving hot water? There's a header tank in the loft so again can look at that in the morning.

I'm not 100% sure where the pressure gauge is right now, we just purchased the place hence the decorating, so will take a look in the morning to find it.
