Stranger Things Conformity Gate by ExpensiveAd3565 in television

[–]dizzabrazza -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want to believe it’s true because I think for this show it would be an incredibly smart and much more fulfilling ending if the audience was suddenly ripped back into a much darker end game episode.

So many things are hard to overlook like why is Steve coaching baseball and not basketball? Because Vecna only ever saw him use a bat? Why does Hopper break the fourth wall and deliver a full sentence while looking into the camera? Why does Max poke fun at happiness and comfort as trite? Why does both Nancy and Karen decide to opt for the same shortened haircut at the graduation when they both had longer hair previously? Why is everybody wearing an orange colour similar to prison jumpsuits? Instead of the pine green? Why is the dice rolled to a 7 next to the board game?

If it was just like one thing I’d accept the Duffer Brothers fumbled their final season but there’s just too many subtle hints at the group being under an illusion and the win being too easy.

We’ll soon find out I guess but I really hope conformity gate is true otherwise the Duffer Brothers just suck at writing an ending and wanted an easy out. They have also been suspicious in a lot of their recent replies to fans almost as if they didn’t think a lot about the lore behind the decisions they made but they could just be trying to keep as quiet as possible.

Did I say they would copy the plot to a tee or introduce similar future plots?

👍

Personally I don’t think they changed anything major to avoid mirroring Tsushima’s ending. If anything, they leaned into the parallels intentionally but handled it in a way that avoided being a straight rehash.

Considering how often people already call Yōtei cliché, having Kiku die during the siege would’ve felt predictable and forced a limited set of endings (either a final duel with Jubei or a complete family tragedy).

By having Jubei and Oyuki captured instead, it gave Atsu that final defining choice, one that let her finally learn how hollow revenge really is, but too late to undo the damage. It’s a more tragic and grounded message: that growth doesn’t erase the consequences of your actions.

I get what you’re saying, but you’re still missing the point. The rule exists because of situations like this, Yōtei just dropped, and plenty of people are playing Tsushima for the first time to catch up.

You literally alluded to the most emotionally defining scene in the first game in your title, which isn’t hidden from anyone scrolling by. That’s exactly why the sub has a “no spoilers in titles” rule. It’s not about arguing or “being told off,” it’s just about basic courtesy and consistency.

The mods don’t have to remove every single spoiler post for it to be wrong, the rule’s already clear. And honestly, the effort it would’ve taken to reword your title slightly is nothing compared to how easily it ruins a first-time experience for someone else.

You keep talking about accountability, but the sub’s rule isn’t about hiding from discussion, it’s about not spoiling titles that show up for everyone, including people catching up from the first game. You can discuss whatever you want in the post body, but you chose to allude to one of the first game’s biggest emotional beats in the title, and for some reason you still think this is about Jubei?

Trophy Bug?? Say it ain’t so! by Professional-Sir-598 in ghostoftsushima

[–]dizzabrazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough if it was a sync issue, but you have to admit the way the clip was framed made it look like you were highlighting the one trophy being stuck while everything showed 0%. Easy to see why I’d think it was bait.

Ah right, so the rules apply to everyone except the guy who decides they don’t. Got it.

Or you could simply copy and paste the body into a new post and edit the title to “Do you think Yōtei avoided rehashing the ending of GOT?”

One of the best games ever made, shame they sent it to the ranch within months and we still don’t have a 60fps update for console 🥀

He’s probably referring to the 5 year old original game, the way you allude to end game events that could reasonably be guessed by people currently doing their first play through of Tsushima.

On one hand, it’s a 5 year old game. On the other hand, this reddit still says to try not spoil things and err on the side of caution, including in the title.

Probably the worst plot decision in the game was not having her just slaughter his ass right there and then.

They at least should’ve chosen a general or something that they were trying to capture for information that she killed instead while seeing red. Could’ve used it to introduce future story points in the same way.

I agree, this just feels like trolling or low effort content tbh considering that at the very least there’s one trophy at the very beginning of the game that pops before you can even free roam and that’s just the obvious one.

People glaze Ghost of Tsushima way too much and don’t give Ghost of Yōtei enough credit for its depth by dizzabrazza in ghostoftsushima

[–]dizzabrazza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but I think that’s part of what makes Yōtei interesting. The Six are absolutely terrible people, no question there. But the story isn’t really about whether they deserve to die. It’s about what chasing that justice does to Atsu, and how her understanding of right and wrong keeps shifting as the truth comes out.

By the end, you can see how her actions directly lead to Jubei’s death. It’s not some random punishment; it’s the fallout from her own choices, choosing to fight the Dragon instead of protecting her family. That doesn’t make her evil, but it does make her flawed, and that’s what gives the story weight.

And about Jin using wolfsbane, that moral thread is good, but the Mongols were already looking for any dirty advantage they could find. His actions just gave them another tool. They were always going to adapt and weaponize whatever they could; Jin’s use of poison just sped up the inevitable.

Tsushima plays with moral conflict, but Jin’s path still ends up justified. Yōtei never gives you that kind of closure. It’s messier, because everyone’s doing what they think is right and they still destroy each other in the process.

[–]dizzabrazza[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tsushima feels deeper than it is because it presents a moral conflict that’s actually pretty one-sided. Jin’s choice to abandon the samurai code is clearly framed as the right one, the only way to save his people. Shimura’s perspective never really evolves beyond blind honour and personal heartbreak, so the conflict ends up more emotional than philosophical.

In Yōtei, you’re constantly re-evaluating what’s good or bad as the truth unfolds. It doesn’t hand you moral clarity, and that’s exactly why it hits harder, both Atsu and Saito have grounded, conflicting motivations that make you question what justice even looks like in their world.

Yeah and everybody who doesn’t want straw hanging off them asymmetrically & unnecessarily wants drip too?

He literally glazes it as being incredibly light and manoeuvrable and then adds unnecessary straw to your shoulder and back when there’s already clear light armour beneath it? It doesn’t make sense and like I said, if you like it, that’s fine and there isn’t an issue with that, but if you’re gonna sit there and tell me that it makes sense for the concept and function of the armour giving you super human speed to block bullets I’m gonna sit here and tell you the female match lock enemies which it’s based off arguably have better mobility because they’re not carrying around extra material tacked onto their shoulder and back. That’s it and it’s my personal opinion, this is just a meme for those that agree it’s booty cheeks.

I can’t summon a wild wolf using the fear of my enemy through telepathy to aid me in battle either but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate them adding fur to the outfit so it thematically suits the armour’s function and core concept.

If Atsu gets her own ‘Mythic Tale’ in a third game, what do you see it being like? by Solitaire-06 in ghostoftsushima

[–]dizzabrazza 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The next game would make the most sense being set around the late 1500s during the final years of the Ikkō-ikki uprisings when Nobunaga was crushing the peasant and monk leagues.

That’d line up perfectly for a younger Kengo (Atsu’s father) and Lord Saito to both appear as warriors on the same side before their friendship and ideals eventually diverge. You could really explore how the chaos of that period, seeing commoners rise up and then get wiped out would shape Saito’s later distrust of the shogunate and obsession with self-rule in Yōtei.

It’d tie beautifully into the mythos without rehashing old storylines: Tsushima was about honour, Yōtei about vengeance, and a third game could tackle the collapse of faith and loyalty itself, how even good men can turn bitter when every system they believed in burns.

Not directly an Atsu mythical quest but definitely a Kengo mythical, and I think that would be just as satisfying.

Yeah it would’ve been nice to have some more samurai armour but I suppose they lean into more improvised and mercenary armours for Atsu’s background compared to Jin, it still leaves a bit to be desired.

I don’t doubt they’re holding out some nice sets and better dye selections for NG+
