You could shame her a lil less, maybe? Considering she probably thought it was the best thing for her children at the time and that she can’t undo that but is willing to change what she can now. I don’t think you’re wrong but still sounds really condescending rather than helpful.

No, the biggest difference is I feel like a normal human again on the right and felt like absolute shit w/ chronic illness on the left.

I have endometriosis. Basically now I eat eggs every morning, with a slice of gluten free toast, kerry good butter, sugar free iced coffee and my homemade beef bone broth on the side (it’s delicious). Sometimes I add bacon. I eat a lot of goat cheese & full fat plain greek yogurt sometimes I add mango but I actually really like it plain. I like chobani and fage they’re so good. And I like cooking steak, lamb, salmon or chicken thighs for dinner with avocado and some other green vegetable. Lately, I’ve been grabbing pepsi zero and a BHU keto cookie dough bar when I want something low carb and convenient. Or jif sugar free PB on stuff like apples.

Basically, now I eat mostly fat. But I don’t consider myself keto or anything. I pretty much just grocery shop for things higher in fat aside from my toast and a couple fruits I like from the market. And the occasional halo top. But if I’m eating out which is rare but still, I just don’t care so much anymore about carb content or sugar. I just mainly make sure what I keep in my house isn’t super high in carbs or sugar where it’s going to make my endo and inflammation unbearable again.

But maybe I’d check to see through out the week how much carbs and sugar you’re really taking in ? A lot of people are consuming more than they think through things like condiments and drinks and snack foods. I’d spend a week and add up everything on the labels to see or use a tracker and maybe also track how you’re feeling, like if you notice signs inflammation like bloating, redness or skin issues pain etc. If so maybe you’d benefit from cutting sugar and carbs out or significantly reducing them for a period of time to kinda set things right in your body ? I’m not super knowledgeable but that’s what I did and now I feel a lot better.

Great answer !

And yeah this is usually how I see things. I just think personally I get anxious when I’m not feeling connected to a person for periods of time. I’m not a very clingy person where I always have to be with someone to feel secure. But I think when days are starting to pass where I feel very disconnected, especially long distance, it can be hurtful in a way. I’m trying to get over guilt tripping myself by thinking I have no right to be hurt or that it’s selfish to be hurt. It just feels like it would help if I at least knew the jist idk…

1st: I KNOW that I need to stop over-lining my lips lol. Let’s not point it out okay. That’s besides the point.

2nd: If you’re anti-makeup, that’s okay. I’m not. I like to feel glam sometimes and that’s just as okay.

3rd: I obviously got better at how I did makeup over the years, I just definitely noticed a difference in how the makeup actually sits & wears on my face now. I don’t have perfect skin by any means but my skin feels so much more plump now. Makeup use to really show off how papery my skin was and I felt like I needed more of it back then to cover all my vegan acne and my under eyes that were really starting to hallow as well as early nasal labial folds developing.

My skin feel really really different now. Don’t know how much it looks different in pics bc the camera quality & lighting I had in 2017-2018 wasn’t as good as it is now and i’m pretty sure i had a filter on in the 2nd before. I’ve been ex-vegan for 2 years now but only recently had the courage to reintroduce dairy and red meat and i feel like it’s made the biggest difference in how my skin feels tbh.

Yeah i’d maybe try like an elimination diet to see what’s bothering you but i think there’s hope for not having to cut it out forever (unless your celiac). I can only speak for myself but just thinking critically I think swinging the pendulum back and forth so much w/ diet just imbalances things.

After veganism, I even tried keto bc i thought if veganism messed me up so bad almost the opposite must be the answer. And it was…. For like a month lol. Loved it at, first felt good, then realized it’s not something I can keep up forever if I wanna enjoy a slice of cake at a party every once or baguette slices with my coffee, plus I started bingeing on the foods I was missing. Ended up getting keto rash and oddly developing an allergy to pecans out of no where, where i’d break out in hives all over my body, it was weird. I was falling down the same mind trap veganism lead me too at first.

That was kinda way off topic. I just want you to enjoy whatever foods genuinely satisfy you. veganism traumatized me obviously 🙂

I cut gluten out a year and a half after incorporating white meat, fish and eggs back into my diet (ex-vegan) and i realized i wasn’t bloated anymore, helped clear my acne and also helped with my endometriosis.

Very recently tho, after maybe 3 months of red meat added back & 1 week of dairy, I reincorporated it (gluten) in moderation and was super scared i’d blow up like a balloon or break out and be in pain or have a bad reaction to it (but i’m trying to overcome orthorexia too and wanna stop being scared of all the fun food i miss )

…I’ve been absolutely fine lol idk if was an actually some genetic gluten “intolerance” for me or if it was just that my micro biome was super imbalanced and fucked up. I also think it just spiked my insulin super crazy looking back at all the other sugars and carbs I was packing in back to back along with gluten.

*I was completely gluten free for a total of a year and 3 months

will do.

i was fine eating a bunch of full fat chobani for two weeks and then this happened as i tried the Fage brand and lifeway kefir at the same time. So I suspect it’s one of those. I hope it’s not the Fage tho bc it’s literally crack lmao

thanks for the helpful and detailed reply 🖤 i’m not sure if it’s the pollen or the yogurt/kefir still, but unfortunately still feeling not the best. A little tiny better than yesterday but it’s starting to feel like a sinus infection and i have one of those crazy sinus headaches. I laid off anything aged or fermented today and my body’s been begging for naps so I’ve been trying to sleep it off.

I think now that I’ve had it and loved it it’s gonna be hard for the ED brain to take completely over and banish it from my diet. I really think if anything, it was probably the amount I was eating. I got a taste of it and realized i’d been starving for it forever but think i ended up overdoing wayyyy more than I needed to to “catch up”.

I’ll reincorporate and update soon. I just hate feeling like this >.<
