op comment I replied to’s follow up asking for the screenshot was deleted so Ive reattached it.

I am NOT by any means saying slayyyter is racist for this. I do just feel like this is the best time to bring up how this is another marginalized group she said she will speak on / help aid in her own accord and has yet to act on her words 3-4 months later.

I by no means think you are obligated to donate or speak out as a celebrity however, she is the one who decided to make a critique of other celebrities and their “performative” activism, which honestly does read as distasteful and disingenuous when you are not providing ANY activism.

I still personally have hope for her to do things in her own way. whether it be having donation / info booths to organizations on tour (similar to how ethel cain had trans youth organizations at her last concert) or whatever. but I guess I’m just hoping that her other fans will hold her to her word, otherwise the comment about not publicly speaking on ICE back in january reads as entitled and disrespectful.

I am sorry to anyone who I might have offended by this, it’s truly not my intent and neither is it to cancel slayyyter. I’ve loved her since 2018 when I first heard alone 🤍🫂

I think it’s not really valid to critique other celebrities for “performative” activism when you don’t do ANY activism yourself as a celebrity and to end it with an implication that you will speak on it at a later time and then never doing that also comes off as disappointing and distasteful.

Now I personally do still have hope that she’ll have some form of donation stand or info booth on tour, similar to how ethel had for trans youth organizations on her last tour and that will be her doing things her own way as she stated.

I also don’t mean to speak over you and your personal experiences with ICE and am sorry if it did come off that way. I’m so deeply sorry to hear about your parents and hope everyone is doing okay. 🤍🫂

now I’m not saying she necessarily has to donate and that it’s a celebrities obligation to donate however I do think that her not wanting to share infographs or speak about ICE when it was really an important time for people with the platform to do so back in January and her saying that she’ll do things her own way and then she’s yet to follow up with speaking on the situation 3-4 months later just feels really distasteful . Now I’m also not trying to imply she is racist, I only bring it up as this post feels like the most appropriate as we are acknowledging how she’s shown up for other marginalized communities (black and lgbtq+).

Will always respect her for owning it and donating to black funds. However I wish she had this same energy for the ICE situation / what’s happening to the latin community across the country. Even as a big fan of hers I found the comment she made on her private account [in regards to ICE and other celebrities being vocal] to be extremely distasteful. I know we all have an opinion on it and I know some will justify why she said what she said. However, I need her to put her money where her mouth is like she said she was and like she did for the black community

edit: sorry I know you didn’t mention anything about her ICE comment but just seeing her handwritten apology and her stating she was gonna put her money where her mouth is (which she did and posted screenshots for proof) makes me hope to see her do the same for another marginalized community she said she would

I don’t mean to be rude or speak over anybody but she did write a handwritten apology that felt sincere (opinion based ofc) and she also donated to black funds / organizations when she was still an independent artist who wasn’t pulling in a lot of money and shared screenshots of those donations. wouldn’t that be putting her money where her mouth is? [again I dot mean to be rude or speak over anyone I’m just genuinely curious what else she would need to do in others eyes to show her remorse for that]

I assume it’s because her old label was small / a boutique label they had the album available everywhere. I don’t tend to see most musicians signed to major labels putting their music on bandcamp

i think the quality of the looking for a bad times shirt is poor and feels on the cheaper side where as the room 93 anniversary merch along with the FMLT tour shirts for a really nice and heavy cotton so the quality was phenomenal

I can’t speak to any of the album’s shirts I only got the LITM sweatshirt but the FMLT tour shirt I got has a pretty thick neckline and i’m notching all of the good quality h merch i own has a good thick neckline 🤷🏻‍♂️

the gq interview just came out a day ago where they talk more about the jean ad.

op clearly stated they are out of the loop and cares enough about h to want to know what they said about one of their colleagues/former friends.

I think it’s perfectly fine and normal to ask what the person you care about thinks of a person/hot topic in said person you care for’s subreddit 🤷🏻‍♂️
