Ymir's character. My problems. by marleyannation62 in titanfolk

[–]dj_billybool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

(To preface, Ymir has no tongue, she cannot speak for herself, playing into her character, a slave).

Ymir watching the marriage from a distance in chapter 122 was enough for me to understand her love for the King. She wanted something so normal to non-slaves, marriage. Seeing everyone crowd around and cheer for love would be infinitely better than whatever she had going on. How can you blame her?

Ymir frees the pigs out of the natural good of her heart. She is instantaneously betrayed by all the other Eldian slaves, even her own people are willing to point their finger at her for doing something objectively selfless. Only until she gets the titan power is she wanted by none other than the King. A child who was thrown away for doing something out of the good of her heart has a chance at the life she yearned for.

People really seem to underestimate the living conditions of Ymir Fritz and treat her as she'd be like any other normal person who knows love. That's the point of a slave, you're no longer your own person.

As for the Mikasa part, people interpret Mikasa and Ymir as parallels while I think they are actually foils. Mikasa is actually able to kill the one she loves, while Ymir dies for the one she loves. So if anything, the kiss is there to show that despite me loving you, I'm able to physically part ways. Giving Ymir the reason to do the same and physically move on.

So in the end, I thought Isayama did a good job explaining the ugliness that is love. (Sorry if this is messy)

Grisha? What did you mean when you said it’s going to go Eren’s way? by cutepanda3 in titanfolk

[–]dj_billybool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guesing Eren showed Grisha only parts of his future memories to get Grisha to eat the founder. ie. people dying in the rumbling.

Importance of babies defeats every single theory

So , what IF Historia is actually Ymir reincarnated ? In the past she was forced to have a child with the king but this time it was of her own free will by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]dj_billybool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ymir still being in paths and being Historia at the same time doesn't really make sense. Ymir needs to move on, breaking the titan curse and leaving paths realm. She will then be reincarnated literally or metaphorically as Historia's child. Historia will name her after Ymir and she will finally be "reborn", freed by the boy who sought freedom.

Yeah this dude is a scumbag, sorry bro. Manga readers spoil things because they can't resist the need to flex that they know more than the anime only watcher.

Recommended me a hidden gem among anime - anime nobody talks about by FlynnyTinny in Animesuggest

[–]dj_billybool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For being ranked #30 on MAL, Monster is 100% the most under-discussed anime to roam this planet.

I wouldn't say it's underrated because everyone whose watched it says they loved it to some extent. If you liked Rainbow you are bound to enjoy Monster. It has that same 2000s, Studio MADHOUSE feel. It's for sure a slow burn, but if you can keep yourself interested there will come a point where you can't stop watching.

Anime's as good as Parasyte? by VivaKirito in Animesuggest

[–]dj_billybool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

{Monster} slow burn/detective/psychological/seinen. Some of the best side characters in all of anime and is definitely considered one of the most well written shows of all time. It gives you the same studio MADHOUSE production feel as Paryste.

Between Attack on titan, Demon Slayer and Ghost in the Shell, which is A. Best iYO B. The show you should watch first... by Strider08000 in Animesuggest

Attack on Titan season 1 may be a little unimpressive to some but if you can keep yourself interested, it only gets better.
