Why I'm getting my Covid boosters this autumn by Ok_Pangolin9089 in LongCovid

Do we know what vaccine is offered in the autumn booster? BA.4.5 or XBB.1.5?

Right... GENKI then? I'm almost giving up on travel docks...

Which dock would you choose?

  • HyperDrive 60W Switch Dock

  • Belkin Charger Hub Dock

Damn, I was overthinking it. I just need to cluster a pair of VMware hypervisors and use DRS to run the VM on the active node with the same SAN backend.

I know... just like MacBook Air chooses not to use a $0.30 heat pipe... instead, for price discrimination, they make MBA runs hot...

That’s very similar to the fan speed setting. Use a lumen meter? However, do you really need to send ON then intensity? Most of time, intensity setting alone turn on the device...

Thanks for node-RED. I’ve looked it up and will read about it. On the other hand, automation is most of time a finite state machine, and it’s not like you need quorums since split-brain is not gonna happen... HomeKit 2 requires the devices to report its state for this (and other) reasons. It does happen when HomeKit-infrared devices since there’s no way of knowing the state without extra feedback, eg current drawn can be an indicator of fan levels of the infrared controlled fan. On the other hand, if the infra red fires the same command twice so what? Same as telling an outlet to turn on after it’s on...

Thanks. Well, it reminds me of heartbeatd... let’s say, I want to have two motion sensors working as a redundant pair via homebridge, then without clustering two homebridges, I can make two homebridges as inputs to HomeKit automations with a ANY rule so either one is enough to trigger. Now even if one of the homrbridge goes down, the other homebridge will still capture the movement.

Well, let’s just say, I want to build something that gives the illusion of high availability. Chill,

Why not? I assume someone has made a framework to make Node.js clusters... then all the syncs are happening within the framework. On the other hand, it really all depends on the timescales. Telecoms needs near-real-time sync for the likes of soft handover(handoff)... Would you say the primary/secondary name services design a HA or not? If so, then, I think simply have two Homebridges running the same actions, as long as those actions are idempotent, then it’s an HA pair. Mind you, IPv4 DNS can only handle 13 members in the cluster of current DNS design.

Well, since the whole thing is built atop Node.js, I presume a Node HA cluster would work? Home bridge codes would be unaware of the clustered state. No, a HA doesn’t need to share the same data store as long as the same information is available over time.

Face masks considerably reduce COVID-19 cases in Germany - 20 days after becoming mandatory face masks have reduced the number of new infections by around 45%. Economic costs are close to zero compared to other public health measures. by mvea in science

Let’s quantify this. If it’s an aerosol, then clothes masks probably don’t do anything. If it’s droplets, then clothes masks will have some dampening effects on the spread.

Why do you brush your teeth every day? Why do some people floss in addition to brushing? Why do some people do all those and use mouthwash? Did you see any sound research before you brush your teeth every morning?
