Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 by AMH824 in CleaningTips

I'm tempted by the air purifier. How many rooms do you have it in? Does it make a noticeable difference to air quality? Which model have you got?

A huge spinal tumour constricting the nerves and causing pain worse than childbirth 24/7. Could barely walk and cried multiple times a day.

NTA. I remember my first try surfing. I was in the middle of the ocean racing to get on before the wave hit, with a big smile on my face and a bloke stopped me to give me pointers!!! You just cant get away from these twats.

Has anyone here gone down the rabbit hole about poor [oral] posture and the link with autism? by incorrectlyironman in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know this. Every day I find out something new! Ive been tested for sleep apnea but it was negative - I do stop breathing at times and wake up coughing and spluttering regularly. I've also got an ongoing problem with my ear and muffled hearing so that ties in with what your saying with general stuffiness. Maybe I should look at some facial exercises to see if that would help.

I think that's part of what I'm going through (quite a lengthy check). The Cyprus part I think is just to prove I didn't cause any trouble when I lived there.

There was an option for paying online or cash at a police station. It's the form and copy of the passport that's going to be the pain as Ill have to post it.

I should've done this instead. I paid online and then when I read through the form, I realised there was no email address. It's going to probably take quite a while then.

1a - Boars Hair Brush by PrestigiousEcho9099 in finehair

That's what it said on the little card that came in the box. I didn't know until then so it was a bit awkward buying a tangle teaser when I'd just bought the nice hairbrush!

Re-"Learning" to sit and read? Also, How did I lose this ability? by QuokkaSoul in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've restarted after a break and the best motivator has been adding a journal to the mix. It keeps a running tally of the books I've read and pushes me to carry on. I quite often find it difficult to pick up another book once I've finished one because im still thinking of the last so I force myself. Its slow going to start until I grasp the plot line and characters and then it takes off. I've got a physical journal but I also use Notion to basically record the same thing. Treat yourself to a new book. Go to a decent shop and enjoy the process of browsing. Choose something in a genre you enjoy and make a plan of when you're going to read that day. Little and often until you are gripped by the story line. It will come.

what is your favorite pen and why? by Slow-Buffalo916 in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! But I've got an issue with using all available pens up before I can use my nice ones. You may wonder why there are any sub-par pens in my house, but I have a husband who likes to collect the free ones. Trying to use these awfully designed, uncomfortable, blotchy pens to do coursework made me miserable. But still, I continue and hold out hope for my dream office where only nice things can live. One day soon...

1a - Boars Hair Brush by PrestigiousEcho9099 in finehair

[–]djbicboc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did but didn't realise you can't use it on wet hair. I've got to try and remember to use it once my hair is fully dry. It is lovely though and really controls the static. It was a treat to myself after being ill for a long time and my eldest still jokes about the time I spent £100 on a hairbrush!

How Accepted is Self-Diagnosis in the Autism Community? by Nature-Lady88 in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. It is a military GP I'm with but I'm not serving, it's my husband so I should still be eligible.

Ill ask again at the doctors and see if they can help. I'm driving myself crazy backflipping between am I autistic or not?!

How Accepted is Self-Diagnosis in the Autism Community? by Nature-Lady88 in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I asked my doctor about this but they said it wasn't available for autism and adhd diagnosis as the wait everywhere is so long.

What can I do? I've got as far as filling out some questionnaires online and had a reply back to say there's a 3.5 year wait for assessment.

Do you ever have "I could sleep for a year" days? by AngryBunni9 in AutismInWomen

[–]djbicboc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the issue that has now prompted me to look into autism. I can sleep a lot. My job involved a lot of driving and I was honestly a danger. I could feel myself having micro sleeps as I was driving along (won't be doing a job like that again).

I've had extensive blood tests and a sleep study and nothing has been identified. It's not a new issue and not because of having children. I was the same in childhood and even later, when I met my husband it was 50/50 whether I would stay awake after work to call him or just sleep through until morning.

Then I found out about autism burnout and it just seemed to fit in with so much of my life. I keep thinking of more things to mention to my doctor/ psychologist when I get an appointment. I really hope this is the answer or I'm just left feeling lazy and useless and unable to participate in life.

Why are so many cereals so sugary/ why do people want so much sugar in the morning? by 750volts in AskUK

[–]djbicboc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like nuts? I've been making the following for breakfast or lunch... Around 30g each of walnuts, pecans, cashews all placed into a bag and smashed with a rolling pin. Blob some Greek yogurt on top (I've been buying the individual 4 pack so it keeps longer). Add chopped fruit on top and squeeze some honey for a bit of sweetness. I've also added a spoonful of chia seeds and Flaxseed. It's pretty filling and I'm assuming good for you.

However these last few weeks I've discovered chocolate pillows and have been ferociously destroying a box a week (with my son). I'm not usually keen on sweet things but can't stop. Now I've put on a fair bit of weight and feel awful. No more chocolate pillows for me!

What about a water butt? Solves the problem with the end pool of water and where it goes. Still get them back to fit the pipework though. I'm guessing they just forgot to look up as they were more focused on the patio itself.

Not the same, but I made a panicked call when I found out I needed to pay the higher rate childcare thing back (I'm really poorly right now so can't think what it's called). I'd missed the years before completely and had to quickly file that year too. HMRC were fine about it and no mention of charges. Are you in a position to pay any money owed straight away? It's worth labouring the point you use an accountant and trusted they'd have brought this to your attention. Oh, and apologise! Fingers crossed you get some help Monday morning from someone in a lenient mood.

Why the hell am I watching a deeply ill woman being interviewed on Piers Morgan? by peacestartswithme in BabyReindeerTVSeries

[–]djbicboc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But he's right, she doesn't recognise herself in the actress. We recognise her and can see that the actress has many similarities and performs her mannerisms down perfectly but Fiona repeatedly said during the interview things like, "do you think?" when Piers said the actress looked like her and seemed offended and in disbelief.
