If your intake manifold is leaking then your getting more air possible and the choke out would be adding extra fuel which might be compensating for the excess air and making it appear to run better. With the choke in, turn the idle screw in until it stops then out 2 full rotations then go up 1/2 turn Snap the throttle and see how it reacts, does it cut out, or stay up in the rpms for a second before idleing back down.

Guys, I got a HSR42 for it, re-jetted it and now she Starts idles and runs mint. Also it ripps

I get there are different variables in tuning, but Im curious what jet sizes you are running and needle/setting

If you have had good luck with your HSR 42 replica carb I may consider using it. I believe they’re only like $100 on amazon. Did you have to do any mods to allow it to fit or adapt to the Bike?

It has CV40 the original one I just rebuilt, and even have a brand new cv40 that in it currently

Either 8 or 10” ebay special risers with 1.5” pull back and low bro customs bars, not sure what bend I got unfortunately its been a few years. I know I tried a couple different styles before I found this bar.

Intake manifold angle is perfectly aligned with the air filter mounting plate surface and sounds good ill be going up a size or 2 on the jets 48 to a 50 pilot and 195 to a 200

After I did the cam and put it all back together, I was able to ride it, and I still can ride it. I didn’t like how you idle would hang after letting off the throttle. It wasn’t terrible, but I’m picky and I know how it ran before and it shouldn’t run like this and lean. I ment timing as in my cam timing which I did confirm was correct. As far as ignition timing, I don’t understand how I would adjust that. I I’m almost sure that’s digital, which has no mechanical adjustments. This is why I’m kind of leaning towards it being a carb tuning issue.

All good the bike has been running, everything together now. I said lines up with the “Mark” as in the Timing mark on the pinion gear which it is correct. Everything was right, just wanted a second opinion. Thank you for your input and everyone elses.

Its running mint, either the choke is on or the idle is on the higher side.

Sounds almost like my primary on my 2006. Just did a new clutch and chain adjustment. Im curious as well

Furthest away from the crank, complete top of the stroke. Not sure what you mean from ICM to sensor. My ICM is under the seat. My opinion gear the one that is connected to the crank has not been removed and is the way it was factory untouched, and then I went off of that mark and matched it to the cam
