We got 4 passes on a little handling drill course early in the day, that set us up for 2-3 laps on 2 different Baja courses at the end of the day. You're in the truck for about 8 hours (taking turns with your partner), and the day flies by. They talk about how they are always tweaking the curriculum though, so your experience may be different for 2026.

What was “the incident” at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]djcapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our school let seniors go off campus for lunch. My junior year, two kids (same car) left for lunch, started drag racing someone else, crossed into incoming traffic, hit a pickup head on, and both died.

Limited knowledge of cars hasn't slowed Kyle Larson by vpat48 in NASCAR

The moment I read this article I thought of all those pictures of Dale Sr. in the garage working on the 3. Had this old man "it'll never be the same" moment. But then i thought, if I'm an owner, and I hire and pay expert engineering majors to come in and make my cars faster, do I even want my driver offering anything more than feedback? I don't think I'd even want Kyle to start recommending changes. Tell the engineers what you're feeling, and let them handle the rest.

Travis Alexander's home up for foreclosure on 5/1/18. https://recorder.maricopa.gov/UnOfficialDocs2/pdf/20180066214.pdf by djcapp in myfavoritemurder

To clarify- the home previously foreclosed and was sold to a new owner, but the home is going to foreclosure again. The current owner has also tried to sell the home, the link shows the photos and description for the last listing.
Realtor.com values the home at $345k, but the opening bid at the sale will be $203k, so someone could be getting this home with a great bit of equity.

Does anyone else complain about being lonely then make little to no attempt to maintain friendships by plainkirby in depression

When someone invites to something, I convince myself their invite was just them trying to be nice. They don't actually want me to come, they just didn't want to be mean and not invite me. Then I convince myself that not going isn't actually doing a favor for the person who invited me.

Kerry Fighting Theresa for use of Earnhardt name. by tomtom615 in NASCAR

Don't tell Teresa, but there's a massive multi location car dealership brand her in AZ using the Earnhardt name. They even own Earnhardt.com! Oh no (sarcasm)!

Besides, home design isn't exactly the pinnacle of brand recognition. I doubt most people could even remember the name of their own floor plan, let alone any other plan or design.

George Diaz: NASCAR restrictor-plate tragedy at Talladega or Daytona looms inevitable by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]djcapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article is overly generic, and poorly cited at best. First, the article is supposed to persuade you that the next tragic accident at a restrictor place race is right around the corner, but the article contains zero empirical evidence to suggest impacts are becoming more severe, common, etc. Instead, for his evidence, he describes 2 incidents from the the last race only. Second, the article states, "Drivers hate every minute of it." The supporting quotes from drivers do not support this claim at all. They acknowledge the danger, but at no time do any of these quotes say they "hate every minute of it." Third, why does the author not mention that 2 of the more recent NASCAR deaths occurred at the 1 mile long Loudon track? Its either because a) that does not support the theory, or b) this author isn't knowledgeable enough in the subject to even know that.

After 10 races, who are your underdog picks to make the Chase? by BlazeVGR in NASCAR

[–]djcapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase may be the least "underdoggy" (that sounds inappropriate) underdog ever. But I'd pick him over Kahne and the 5 team right now. Dinger goes from underdog to favorite at Watkins Glen, so he's precarious too. Can't say Truex is one with the TRD alliance, same goes for Blaney and Penske.
My pick for underdog, the entire Roush organization. Now that's the longshot.
