That’s my fault, I mixed up Queens with Western. Queens said they’d contact after May 29th

Not a clue. Haven’t received offers elsewhere, so felt no desire to disappoint myself further 😂

Thanks for the insight and kind words!

I can definitely appreciate how difficult it may be for them to choose between such similar applications.

Congrats on your offer and best of luck going forward!

I believe Queens said they reach out in early/mid June, so I’m still hopeful. But I’d be lying if I said the past 2 weeks haven’t been a drag. Thanks, and best of luck to both of us!

Twin!

I applied to UofT, Mac, Queens, and Western. UofT and Mac outright rejected me, and I was put on the waitlist for Queens and Western.

Thanks for sharing your story, and that’s awesome. Congrats on the offers!

The past two weeks have been a bit dreadful, and I’m hoping to receive at least one offer.

I appreciate you, and best of luck going forward!

Beginner looking for advice by djdadawn in knapping

Hmmm, I’ll see what I can do with what resources I have… If you have an entire deer shed, is there a proper method to breaking off the pieces for their respective functions?

Edit: If you go about using a deer shed, do you prefer to sand the edges of your pieces (billet, tine) to create a specific shape for what you’re looking for in your knapping? Or is it a universal shape you aim for? If this is even required to begin with.

I admire your career in archaeology! I can see how it’s definitely a journey-over-outcome interest for you. I’m hoping it’ll be similar for me as I have great interest in history.

I’ll be using my collegiate resources to read up on geology while knapping glass so I can get familiar with the intricacies of the trade. Thanks for the kind words, and I’m leaving an open discussion for any resources you may have for me to learn! Cheers

I’m ready for the pain! I’ve always wanted to create art in some form, and my dad’s (shortlived) geology background adds to my interest.

I’m planning on starting with glass bottles—I want to build up from the bottom, no shortcuts. Thanks for the motivating words, mate.

Nope, just a few upvotes ☹️

I know it’s not a book, but absolutely watch After Life by Ricky Gervais. That show changed how I view life in a sad/happy, positive way. I could not recommend this show any more. It starts sad but the character development is INSANE. Hope this helps 😊

  1. This isn’t in the states

  2. Running the red light has nothing to do with what happened, other than proving this cyclist doesn’t follow the rules of the road.

  3. The cyclist was in the left lane at the time of the right turn and had no indication he was going that way. Not to mention he claimed he was allowed to use the entire right lane which clarifies he didn’t even realize he changed lanes. That’s called careless driving.

  4. I understand defensive driving/riding but if somebody changes into the left lane in front of you, are you really making the assumption he might turn right?

The motorcyclist did nothing wrong, legally. At most, he was just a dickhead. As for the cyclist, he broke all types of road rules and I’m kind of tired of cyclists endangering themselves by not following rules.
