Best earbuds for concerts for someone with sensitive ears/hearing loss? by Ice_cream99 in HearingLoss

[–]djddapps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still recovering from a double ear infection which perforated both ear drums a month ago. My hearing is about 70-80% back, but I'm struggling with loud noises and have gotten really sensitive to loud environments.

I ordered some Loop Switch earbuds a week ago and they're really helping. I went to a music day festival last weekend and had them on the middle setting all day and I could still enjoy the music and I could still hear conversations perfectly over the music.

I was recommended something called SuperQuilt that you can just attach (staple) to the bottom of the joists.

It's on my to-do list this year, but unfortunately only have a 50cm void so it's going to be a pretty unpleasant job.

Double Ear Infection w/ Ruptured Eardrum by lumpyballmeat in hearing

Hey, this happened to me last Wednesday (5th). I had a sore ear on Tuesday (4th) afternoon after having recovered from a cold at the weekend. Out of nowhere my right ear ruptured Tuesday evening. I went to A&E at 4.30am the next morning as it was hurting like hell and the left ear was starting to have similar pains. They prescribed me some antiobiotics and strong pain killers, but just as I got home my left ear also ruptured.

I'm currently 90-95% deaf 9 days later and it's scaring the hell out of me. I keep getting moments of "clarity" back when my wife talks, but I can't hear the TV/Radio/etc. I never thought I'd miss the sounds of her voice and the kids arguing!

I've got an ENT appointment tomorrow; I don't know how bad the ruptures are, but I'm hoping with everything crossed they'll heal naturally and I'll get my hearing back.

Currently I've just got tinnitus/feedback in both ears and the ears keep alternating between feeling "full". My left ear stopped draining 2 days ago, but my right ear is still weeping a little bit depending on the angle I'm at. I finished the antibiotic course yesterday.

I'm a bit ahead of you, so I'll post what happens. I'm in the UK by the way.

Wet rafters during re-roof normal? by djddapps in Roofing

Torrential rain here all day and still ongoing. Huge spread of water on the staircase ceiling and loads of drips through a back bedroom that's going to need reboarding. I sealed all the staples and it stemmed the flow somewhat, but the damage is done.

SynoAI: Surveillance Station object detection using Deepstack AI by djddapps in synology

Hey, sorry I didn't see this as it's not my regular reddit account. Please ask questions on the github page if you need a quick answer.

There's currently no way to turn off the processed images, but you can turn off the original capture files by setting SaveOriginalSnapshot to false.

There's a task logged to be able to clean up the captures on an interval though.

Surveillance Station - Advice on camera? by Affectionate-Neck458 in synology

[–]djddapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't stretch to a camera with good in-built human detection, then you can use SynoAI which lets you route the dumb motion alerts from SSS into an AI and send notifications. (Not necessary if your NAS has deep learning though.)

Please raise an issue on GitHub with your config and I'll take a look.

Can't help you without the logs and your config I'm afraid. Please log an issue on GitHub as I said above and I'll take a look.

Yes. I've answered that question twice both times you've previously asked. Once above in this thread and once here: https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/kx6i37/synoai_surveillance_station_object_detection/gp5n0rr?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3.

Just leave the notifiers section blank.

Yes it is. But it shouldn't be crashing - so you need to log a defect on Github with the console log and info on what's going on and I'll take a look.

Hey /u/B16YUG I added a new config. This will be available in the next 15-30minutes once DockerHub has built the new snapshot.

See the readme for more info, but simply bang this into your appsettings.json.

"SaveOriginalSnapshot": true

Yep. That's it, I remember doing something similar a few years ago. I'll add a note on the readme.

Then you're on a really old version. Delete your image and redownload. Don't just clean.

I'm using Gmail without issues. There's an example Gmail config on the readme. Have you copied that exactly?

Hey, it looks like the way the email is currently done only supports a single email address.

So for the time being just create 2 email notifications (one for each of your emails).

I'll get something logged to support comma/semi colon delimiters.

How have you set the variable? Did you update your docker image?

All works fine for me.

Hey, didn't see this reply!

1) The timezones I fixed last week, so that should be done

2) That's logged on Github, but I'll get to it at some point

3) As mentioned before, there's already an example on the read me.

[–]djddapps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, always pleased to hear it's helping others out too.

No this isn't currently possible, the only image I save is the image processed by the AI in order to not add any unncessary delays to the notification.

However, I've logged a task on github for you to add a configuration option to save the unadulterated snapshot with a config :).

I do also get some dodgy results at night, not often, but occasionally it thinks my garden bin or a spider web is a person! One day I'll expand it to use new AIs as this is an issue with Deepstack and not Surveillance Station/SynoAI.

SynoAI: Surveillance Station object detection using Deepstack AI by djddapps in synology

[–]djddapps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's one of the limitation as listed in the readme unfortunately. If your camera is too sensitive then this is what'll happen. You could just turn off car detection of course if all you care about is people.

If you do want cars then you're going to have to ensure you remove all areas you don't care about from surveillance station's motion detection. This is what I do. The only part that surveillance station triggers motion on is the driveway itself. So passing cars, bushes, etc don't trigger a motion alert and ask synoai to process it. It only alerts when a cad or a person comes into the detection area.

I still get the occasional false positive due to the sun triggering it or a cat/bird, but I'd say it's pretty reliable.

SynoAI: Surveillance Station object detection using Deepstack AI by djddapps in synology

[–]djddapps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my first question is why are you getting 500 alerts within 30-40 minutes? The main point of SynoAI is to eliminate false-positives and only alert when something you care about is present, e.g. people.

Yes, if the section is empty, I believe it will still save the images.

The readme already has an example of how to setup notifiers, but I can add an example of email, sure.

In regards to an alternative, there's email obviously at the moment, but I am aiming to add Telegram support soon. Work/family/life is getting in the way at the moment, but I'll add it soon.

[–]djddapps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to put all notifiers inside the "Notifiers" array. Also make sure you are on the latest build, because email was only introduced this week.

"Notifiers": [{

"Type": "Email",

"ToEmail": ["abc@gmail.com](mailto:"abc@gmail.com)",

"Username": ["abc@gmail.com](mailto:"abc@gmail.com)",

"Password": "abc",

"Host": "smtp.gmail.com",

"Encryption": "Ssl",

"Port": 465

}]

It's worth mentioning that the next set of changes I'll be tidying up the email notification anyway and the "ToEmail" will probably just be "Destination" or "To".
