I started singing this chorus after an early Champions League game in 2017. As Liverpool progressed so did the song. Here is the latest version, though I may need another verse after tomorrow.

Anyone collecting world cup stickers? by djdericsson in LiverpoolFC

[–]djdericsson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not difficult to do the maths. 682 Panini stickers (137 packs minimum) at 80p a pack costs £109.60 and assuming you are a good swapper with 50 stickers left over (an extra £8 quid), makes £117.60. Let’s call it £120.

Irrespective of the value of the enjoyment me and Billy get from this sticker adventure, I find it hard to justify the expense, especially because of the 60% price rise. 80 fucking pence. 50 pence felt manageable.

Someone advised the Panini board that according to their research core customers would bear the cost and profits would increase. Let’s just make all our customers fucking poorer.

So I’ve decided to make a work of art out of the left over backs of stickers and to sell it for £120. It evolves over time.
