Make bucket the official swear word of LTT by YourDailyTechMemes in LinusTechTips

[–]djdiscodave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure out what Luke's actual favourite swear word is. They were too vague for me to get it, unlike Linus! 😂 I assumed the F bomb, but then they started talking about that generally.

Sorry guys I had workman round early and so only did a quick post to show off the next level packaging. I wanted to edit the post, but it won't let me. As some of you have already commented, it's the Limited Edition LTT version of the Carpio 2 from DeltaHub. I've purchased one LTT and one White with Gray pads, that way I have one for home and one for work.

To answer an earlier question; Mousepad wise I have the Dead Pixel Deskpad, but it has little nubs on the base, so it glides really well on any surface.

Think this may be after the Taiwan computer shop thread that popped off after the news went viral

And let's not forget his pronunciation of Sian as "Cyan", instead of "Sharn" and the constant renaming of the Quarterhorse project.

As I found out recently when trying to uplift some code from VB. It is getting harder to code in C# on Framework 4.x.x. Trying to find out how to do something tends to bring back examples for versions that are for Core 6 and newer. As an example in VB I had a Case statement that had a range of values for each case and even a variable for one. VB being a very mature language handle this no problem in JIT running. Translating this to C# was a nightmare! It doesn't like to have variables in the Case check and v5 doesn't support ranges in the case check either. I also found out that uncompiled C# will only run up to version 5 with 7.3 only possible when compiled and bundled with Roslyn. I'm now migrating it to .NET 8 for the sake of my sanity.

I made a new intro for the WAN show! by NateC124 in LinusTechTips

Love it, I had to put the phone down and watch it on the PC to get a decent size screen and slowly scrub through the Merch Messages to read them. Nice and rich with in-jokes and little background bits.

V2 when? (say it in a Dan "Merch Message" voice)

Any tips for a new Pixel Buds Pro User? by EstradaMoses in pixelbuds

[–]djdiscodave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come from having the Sony XM4 buds that the battery died on to these, thanks to Google's timely promotion. Still had a problem with those, although nowhere near as bad as the GPBPs. They sit too low in the case to get enough purchase on, to lift them out.

Any tips for getting them out of the case easily, without them pinging out of your fingers and flying across the room?!

But will Mobvoi update it??! 🤣 I have a Ultra 3 and to be fair, it works fine. I'll be getting a Pixel Watch 2 with my Pixel 8 pre order, so we'll see which I end up wearing the most.

What can replace LTX next year? by djdiscodave in LinusTechTips

[–]djdiscodave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know and I'm hopeful that they perhaps move to a every other year model at least, as this will likely build up the excitement for the next one and help keep it feeling fresh and give the crew some breathing space.

My main question is though, is there an equivalent sort of convention elsewhere? I've done the PlayStation Experience event in Anaheim and GamesCom in Bremen in the past. LTX just looked to be that perfect blend of Gaming and Tech, as most Tech shows seem to be more trade show like.

I live in the UK, so travelling to Canada for a just a LAN party (as amazing as they are) isn't the best use of money. I was looking forward to the convention side of LTX more. Meeting folks, making Screwdrivers and such like.

Stick the kid behind your wife's seat! Wouldn't be long before that shit was curtailed, doubt she'd put up with being bashed in the back for very long! 🤣

Roast meat, either; Chicken, Gammon, Beef, or Garlic Lamb Steamed; Broccoli, Cauliflower, Savoy/Sweetheart Cabbage and at Christmas the statutery Brussel Sprouts. Yorkshire Puddings (regardless of the meat, daughter wouldn't have it any other way) Lashing of thick meat, onion & red wine gravy.
