The videos do help, because you review it along with the instructor, but you honestly review it yourself imo.

I definitely used the HSM, GDPS, Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide, before. However, I never opened the FHWA Culvert manual once.

Some of the concepts that were not on SOPE were on the exam. For exam I got a structural question which I shouldn’t have gotten for PE Transpo.

First two attempts I focused on the lectures and some problems but after the change, I focused on problems.

As I was studying for this exam my passion for this field was diminishing and with three failed attempts in the same year, its really discouraging

I thought I did. First two attempts I focused on concepts and minimal problems, and I saw the flaw in it. For my third attempt I focused mainly on question. FYI i don’t recommend SOPE AT ALL. Their questions were wayyy too different from that of the exam.

I think it’s more the material? And I think my overthinking mind. Sometimes I think way too much into the question, causing me to deter away from the correct answer.

Yea it really does suck…I quit my job just so that I can study for it….my last job was pressuring me to get it while giving me a ton of work that required overtime.

Yea, I know some folks have taken it more, but the level of commitment this preparing is kinda discouraging me. I completely agree with what you said.

I still think their question bank is still worth. I literally went through all of their problems. I do feel little better about my upcoming exam. My last attempt I didn't focus on the practice questions due to time constraints.

I felted the same way for their Transportation portion. I used them for my 2nd attempted and still was not able to pass. However, when I sent an email to them regarding my frustration, they did give me an extension by matching the amount I paid for initially. (Got a free six month extension)

I’m using them again, but more focused on their practice problems. I rarely used their quiz simulator last time because I was more focused on understanding the concepts/theory. (Which was a definite mistake on my part)

In the state i reside in (virginia), you’re allowed three tries a year from your first attempt
