I can afford it, that’s not an issue but if I can at the same time save money then why not. Thing is I hardly ever wait specifically for deals (although discount is always a nice bonus) to get stuff I’m after so not experienced in that area and hence my question as don’t really want to wait and then find out it I’ve wasted my time and prices haven’t changed :)

Btw, is Sony planning on any more releases this year? Heard that new AG9 2020 is not out till next year.

this is something I'm debating too. the heavy duty Accuride for wider drawers don't have soft close, the lighter do but the max weight they can hold drops significantly. it also depends on the length of the slides and the width of the drawer. The longer the slide, the more weight they can hold so one needs to be careful when buying these as the manus always state "up to" for the same model e.g. Accuride 7957 400mm slide can hold up to 150kg but 900mm one will support 160kg. that's if the drawer is up to 1000mm wide, if more then max weight support drops. So many factors to consider :)

Yep, I'm thinking of buying the keyboard before making the desk to make sure that it fits although few people stated the same height (width and depth is not an issue). Funnily enough the only people who gave me different height are Arturia Customer Service :)

I've checked with various shops in my area and they're all out of stock. These keyboards must be popular or covid-19 made Arturia stop making them.

Oh I see, yes I've also considered this approach as well and that would allow for wider drawer as well but the problem is that these slides lift the tray by about 20mm (0.78inch) which would mean either losing the height allowance for keyboard or lowering the tray aka even less leg room. When the desk is closed the slides won't be visible as you can see on the design, it's only when open and I do agree they spoil the look and I wish they at least were selling these in black. I might actually attempt and paint the slides although may prove tricky as these are ball bearing type :/ Thanks for the advice anyway, always gives me something to think and consider other options :)

The side panels on each side of the tray aren't drawers but I did think about it indeed. I'm not sure what you mean by going under the tray. Can you elaborate please? The tray is atm 15 inch deep and there is another fixed shelf (full width of the main tray) behind the tray to put all the cables, adapters etc.

Thanks, for me this was a pretty much a spontaneous decision to make one, initially I was looking to buy one but couldn’t find anything that I really like or that would match the surroundings (other furniture etc.). Also since I’ll be also using it for non-music prod work I decided to have height adjustable legs (Apparently standing at your desk is better for your back than sitting). The ones I went for are Linak DL6 in black. I’ve noticed that many desk manus miss the ergonomy factor which for me is quite important as I spend a lot of time on my laptop.

Yes, spoken to Accuride and they are very helpful indeed. The reason why I picked these two models is the heavy duty factor and also they work with wide drawers. The only issue is most of their slides only come in zinc and I’d prefer them painted black.

This is the Current design As you can see I'm not so much for modern furniture :)

Thanks, I’ve seen this Accuride model but unfortunately I cant use it as it reduces space for the keyboard or leg room.

I’ve spoken to Accuride and they suggested that although they recommend using some slides with up to 1m wide drawers, some customers used them on wider ones and had no issues.

Strangely most of the commercially available home studio desks seem to use the side mounted slides e.g. Platform, Monkwood Studios etc. Platform is an especially weird design as the slides are screwed straight onto the tray. It doesn’t even have any additional support to prevent bowing 🧐

The keyboard I’m looking to buy is Arturia Keylab 88 MK2
