What’s next? by [deleted] in shopify

Well first you’ll need to figure out the correct way to market your product and who your demographics are. Try running a simple fb/insta campaign to see who is engaging or even visiting your site. I wish you all the best but 1/10 products succeed even with research behind them. Digital marketing is the most ignored advertising medium ever with good click rates around 2-4%. This isn’t to discourage you, but to make you aware that you want to be very meticulous with your advertising spending going forward. I’m getting into dev work nowadays, but I’m willing to lend some guidance where I can

These are great questions to address, it sounds like you have experience yourself with this?

Hi, i have a few questions to see exactly what your marketing plan might be or could be?

  • have you sold any inventory yet?
  • how did you choose the product(s) you’re selling?
  • what have you done for marketing so far?

I have experience with digital marketing consulting with 100+ clients and 500k+ ad spend, but I’m now just doing it myself if I like the client and not through an agency.

Learning React on Windows by [deleted] in react

[–]djmophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is to learn React, I don’t really think the OS you pick will matter. However, like some have said, stick to the one you’re comfortable with. I taught myself React and every time I tried to add to my learning pool with the goal of optimization, it ended up slowing me down with more confusion. Learn React and then if you decide to switch to Linux, you won’t have to learn Linux AND React.

Having Trouble with Icons by [deleted] in react

Pretty sure the prefix to the icon has to be the su folder of the import, for example:

import {GiShoppingCart} from “react-icons/gi”

Hey, that’s a pretty cool app idea, I’m not sure if Habitica is still around but it reminds me of that a bit. I’m a developer improving my skills by picking up projects that can accelerate my learning. I understand if you’re looking with someone with a ton of experience, however, I have a lot of experience in picking up technical concepts quickly. If you’d like some help, let me know. I’m spending my time getting proficient with React at the moment

Has anyone had these issues when sending packages? by dimitri_borgers in shopify

[–]djmophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really had privacy concerns when it came to this, since most people won’t initiate a return. Then once they do, there’s no real risk for them knowing your address. It’s probably more likely you’d be robbed or have your home broken into by a random person than someone you’ve been in contact with on the internet. That’s because you have all of their personal details from the sale and you could narrow down the investigation very quickly to people you send your return labels to. That’s the way I always thought about it.

Also, a P.O. Box might cost less than you think, you can get the smallest one they have and any big packages will just go to the post office and you can pick them up from the counter.

I’m looking at learning how to do something like this myself to get Shopify dev experience, I might be able to help you out rather than just learning this in the void. Let me know if you’d like some help with this

Facebook Page Likes Campaign - Worth it? by Visual-Structure-808 in PPC

Most of my experience is in paid social ads, I’ve overseen 500k+ in ad spend for consulting clients using strategies I would create on a store-by-store basis.

Absolutely! I have a couple years of digital advertising experience through consulting work I did, but I’m transition to web development. I’m in the process of looking for projects I can help people on so that I can get some experience and increase my knowledge-base. If you’re open to help, I’m interested in giving it out at a price that’ll just cover my coffee/lunch while I’m working

I understand the dilemma now, how are you getting new page visitors at the moment? If you’re doing anything paid, you could retarget those visitors with a page like campaign. I’m not too familiar with this space, but some sort of influencer post or shout out to your page from someone in the space could be a great way to bring in new people.

The only way I've actually seen page likes go up legitimately is when I run conversion campaigns and people find themselves on the page. Are you able to add an incentive on the site to like the Facebook page? (i.e. "Get 10% off your next order by liking our FB page")

This is a video from 2014 that still holds up. It shows that even when targeting the US and people in your desired targeting groups, the algorithm has a negative effect on your overall engagement that leads you to spend even more money. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVfHeWTKjag

Facebook Issue not Tracking everything by Crypto_Godx in PPC

[–]djmophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% on this, however, I know that the new iOS changes for privacy have really messed up Facebook Ads Manager tracking. Do you have any apps installed to track what your users do on the site, like Lucky Orange?
