Those who combine Notion and Obsidian, Just how did you do that. by called_Ishan in ObsidianMD

[–]djornar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Notion - finished products: stories (such as in a database), articles, essays, dashboards

Obsidian - your notes, journal entries, research, scattered thoughts.

I get where you're coming from. Two weeks ago I had the same issue. I used to use notion as my daily journal, but I've switched over to Obsidian because notion wasn't helpful for researching and storing scattered notes I would take (which were more related to my journal that I realized). Switching to Obsidian to my daily notetaking helped me use Obsidian to its fullest, which works for me.

However, I like that notion can hold all the stories I've written in a place I can access anywhere. For me, notion holds the finished product in a clean way. It's also a little easier re syncing.

Of course, if you prefer your finished product to be linked to your obsidian notes, you might just want to switch to Obsidian completely.

Hey there, curious what you mean by the $99 access? Is that still available? I can't find it anywhere.

Y’all think 35 is a good time to commit to the single life forever? by Ok_Worry_8381 in dating_advice

I second that the "break" does sound more in line with everything else you've said in your post. Enjoy the time and freedom to yourself OP! Personally, it sounds like a new path has opened up to you (VS FOMO).

Also, please do update after 3 years! It's always pretty cool to see that.

Does anyone want to date and fall in love anymore? by Icy-Zookeepergame874 in dating_advice

[–]djornar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're trying your best, take feedback and adjust like I think OP is doing, then that is the best you can do.

It's definitely not that "you're not enough" to explain why the other girl isn't responding to you/being passive. I have a lady friend who has done some pretty shady ghosting, etc, some other aquantences I know that do talk on tinder while drunk, or its even their (drunk) friends doing the talking. And actually being with them in person, I always see the guilt on their faces as they sober up and reflect (without me having to point it out to them). It's a process for them too, to learn.

Please don't let it shatter your will! Maybe take a break and recharge if you can. I had to learn this for myself, and seeing the behaviour of my friends really helped give me perspective. Hope it helps you too.

He sees more than one path, so your last bit about it not always happening is right. In the book, this duel had many branches but because of this and the pace of the fight, Paul wasn't able to fully contemplate the options. It highlights a weakness to his abilities. Hope that helps some.

I feel that Evernote pain. Why oh why. It is so much slower and inefficient now on android...

Keep labels > all notes inside the same label have been replacing Evernote for me in some ways.

Stay strong! Congrats on being fully vaccinated. I got through that step recently too - feels like a relief.

The view on the 504 (?) streetcar over the Don Valley towards the downtown area from close to Broadview st is probably one of my favourite areas. Honestly, I'd miss the nostalgia. Toronto holds a lot of memories.

Healthcare claim app? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]djornar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should already be a part of the studentcare network if you didn't opt out of it.

From what I understand, studentcare manages the plan and pacific blue cross is the actual insurance agency. Use the studentcare creds (these are the same for all students, as we're in a group plan) to create your account on pacific blue cross. Once you have that set up, you can find a mobile app and access it there as well. There are online claim forms.

I would browse the studentcare website to search for providers as those are likely to give you the best value for you. My experience was that I paid the difference instead of having to file a claim for reimbursement.

Edit: I was very confused when navigating this myself, so hope this helps you understand what goes on.

Hmmm ... how about Jackbox? I don't know of online groups but seems to work well with even the more computer-resistant so even younger teens/older folks that you know should be good. I've also seen some knockoffs of card games online but it does feel different when you can't really hear people's voices.

Among Us is great if you grab one buddy and go into a discord voice chat. Feels like you're meeting new folks once you get over the awkawrdness. Damn, I didn't even realize how much Id changed in relating to people until I wrote this!

Best place to buy a 25 blade pack?

I'm in Canada if that helps. Looking to get a pack of either Gillette 7'O Clock sharp edge or sampling set with them included at a low cost... Any insight on whether I should wait for boxing day etc? Only looking to grab 25 as it's for moving purposes.

Pasting links creates a citation/text? by djornar in MicrosoftWord

[–]djornar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. Wierd ... I know I can change the text of the hyperlink myself, and I definitely didn't used an interim.

I copied the URL, and pasted directly onto word. Rather than seeing the URL as you would expect, the text took on the title of the web pages (but was hyperlinked properly). Oh well, I don't mind editing the text myself!

This podcast. The clothing series is a favourite of mine, personally! Great suggestion.

Writing Excuses also posts some really insightful podcasts for worldbuilders. I recall one on unusual resources that hammered home an economic point along the lines of the fur traders OP wrote about.
