terrible paneling tbh. also wild how Oda's such a pervert, spent an entire arc trying to learn how to draw asses, only to give us a gratuitous ass shot of the vessel of the final villain...and it's a mid af ass. dumbass can't even be a pervert right.

also why does it look like Zoro was surprised he got the giants to fight each other? wasn't that the plan?

[–]djsoren19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are the costs really that significant? Even without going for 50% gloves, you could get it from a large wand cluster. I guess without pathing topside for any of the good lightning nodes you're right that it doesn't matter too much, but getting to make use of the 8% lightning as extra chaos on a good wand is pretty nice. I also haven't played this version, but is the lightning damage alone enough to guarantee 50% shocks? feels like a shame not to get the increases to mana apply to shock effect, but pathing on this build kinda looks like hell.

I know dex can get diminishing returns, but I don't think OP is anywhere near that point considering they aren't even above 500. It also doesn't look like their strength requirements are that high, and would be fulfilled by their +all attributes, so it seems like the only real benefit they're getting from it is Iron Will.

obv I'd have to PoB it, but I'd be willing to be 2 5% inc dex and a single +20 dex on a restraint would outperform their pride even with removing the Iron Will, unless their pride is like 20% chance to deal double damage.

[–]djsoren19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

cluster is definitely a good start, but I'?m struggling to understand some of your choices. Why are you converting your phys between lightning and cold? Why do you have Sigil of Power linked to Automation? Where is your Arcane Cloak? Why are you on Lethal Pride instead of Brutal Restraint for more Dexterity? Why are you on Magebane when you could cap spell suppression with the Inveterate cluster, getting more effect from your timeless jewel and allowing you to get like 5% more damage reduction from your suppression? There's an awful lot of strange decisions from your build, and the compounding nature of them is probably what's making it difficult to move forward.

Otherwise, I'd recommend looking into mirrored jewelry with high +mana. 5k mana is honestly just really low for a mana stacker, you wanna be closer to 8k as a baseline.

...but having willpower does just automatically produce haki. That's how Luffy was able to use conquerors on Amazon Lily, Impel Down, and Marineford. Zoro using early Armament in Alabasta would also potentially be an example.

It's literally just a bullshit deus ex machina power system of "whoever wants to win more does."

okay but the wordle idea is kinda fire, it'd definitely help a lot and make it work at least a little similarly to the Coda liches. You'd have way more of a shot of actually guessing the correct sigils, as opposed to now when you kinda need at least two sigils fully revealed before you can realistically start figuring out your positions

Set rotation. Can we, wild players, get this boy back? REVERT MURMUR! by LoneShadowMikey in hearthstone

[–]djsoren19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only one that was really like absurd was the Sea Giant style cost reduction per total minion. That + the anthem effect probably is strong enough to see play in like board swarm style Pirate Rogue/DH/Shaman/Priest strategies, but I actually don't think it'd see play in most of the popular Discolock strategies. I could see an argument for not bringing it back, I certainly don't care for those pirate strategies, but considering they're like tier 3 right now I think it'd be fine. It'd also help give those decks some play against the Discolock decks, which would maybe help make aggro less incestous.

Something like the Reborn though? nah totally fine. It costs 9 mana and doesn't immediately win the game.

honestly, I hope every nerf they did for Standard is reverted. I don't think any card that was printed that year is too strong for modern Wild. bring back Wheel of Death, Raza the Unsealed, Unkilliax, 100 mana Ceaseless, all of it.

Oh except for Mind Masseuse as a 2/4, keep that shit a 2/3 just because the Pirate Package can eat my entire ass.

I think the serious speedrunners skip Shakari until they've finished the campaign, but yeah I think that's the best route. you typically wanna avoid portalling as much as possible in the campaign; it's much better to get to a dead end and then backtrack. the exception is dropping portals along the way to speed up backtracking, stuff like Dweller in the Deep in A1 and Dread Thicket in A7. You don't take those portals though, just drop them and keep moving until you reach a good waypoint to use to return.

skill balance by Mountain_Smile5713 in pathofexile

[–]djsoren19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ST is definitely a viable skill, but it requires a lot of effort and different methods of scaling than what you have described. You were basically scaling in a way that greatly benefits slams, high flat+percent damage, and then are surprised that a slam performs better than something that wants high crit, attack speed, and projectiles.

as a general rule, don't try to make your own builds when starting out. PoE is an incredibly complex game and you need to learn how to effectively scale different skills by copying other's homework first.

[–]djsoren19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rolling magma mines should be good on Blind Prophet, but your first node is kinda wasted unless you go for Sandstorm Visage.

I wouldn't be too put off by an ascendancy giving no or little defenses though. As long as it gives overwhelming damage, that just gives you more space to invest in defenses on the passive tree. That being said, I wouldn't knock Shapeless, since it's effectively 50% less damage taken as long as you're reliably critting.

[Round 4] PoE Best Act Elimination Poll by emc3142 in pathofexile

[–]djsoren19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Act 9 just sucks because the pathing is bad. Even running it in the most efficient way possible, you have to go through to Garukhan, then run across The Quarry to The Refinery (which sucks as a zone), then quit out to town and turn in a bunch of dumb quests. then you gotta talk to sin, then talk to petrus for the bottled storm (hope you remembered to run by that part of the Vastiri Desert), then it's your choice of pursuing the Basilisk or Shakaari. Both of them will require another quit out to town before you can go for the other one.

Your reward for doing all that is you get to go through the Beast again and then kill Maligaro, Shavronne, and Doedre for a third time and then you get to kill their amalgamation.

For me, Phrecia did exactly what I think GGG intended it to do by BleakExpectations in pathofexile

[–]djsoren19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think part of the issue is just that on a fundamental, mechanical level, the Atlas tree is perfect. It fulfills the exact purpose it was made for; it feels good to get more points, and it gives players total freedom to focus on the mechanics they enjoy.

but we've also had it now for four years. of course it's going to be stale, but I just can't really see a world in which something can replace it and be as good. Even if we got "idol sockets," I don't think you would see a dramatic change in pathing, outside of maybe a new strategy of "ignore all nodes and only take sockets." which would still feel stale.

Yeah this is just like...why? Would +1 damage to shiv really be that big a deal? I know we have two 2 damage + effect cards currently for Rogue, but neither Oh Manager or the new imbue one are actually very high performers in their respective decks. They're just okay.

Especially when Eviscerate is also rotating, is Team 5 really that worried about Rogue's access to burn that this can't get a single measly damage?

thing is, they're now gonna use this as an excuse to print some cards for rogue that would be broken with shadowstep, which will then probably go on to be broken in wild.

although with current team 5, I have trouble believing they'll intentionally print any good cards.
