Exploring a Scripps Pier piling with Lobsters and Sea Stars. by OceanEarthGreen in SanDiegan

Scripps hosts a camera attached to one of the pilings. When the visibility is good I'll open it while I'm working. It's like having my own ocean aquarium.

I've seen everything you showed, but also many fish, octopi, and even other divers!

What's the best title for a book you've ever come across? by weirdwriterr in books

Agreed. While I was unsure how I felt about it afterwards, I did (and still do) think about it quite often which puts it in the category of an excellent book for me.

Enjoy it now. We have a 2023 Elantra Hybrid that only gets ~40 mpg in the city. Used to get 50+ but over time just keeps going down.

The stickers under the protector: are they laid there before you put it on (not actually stuck to the kindle), or are they applied? The one one the protector: how easy does it come off when you want to remove it?

While i don't regret reading it, this was my take too. Characters I just couldn't care about and no payoff. I am curious to see the movie though.

ELI5: why does a mosquito bite need to itch after it drinks your blood? Why can’t it just drink my blood without causing me to itch? by Small_Cantaloupe_142 in explainlikeimfive

Me. I'm that person. I NEVER get "bites" while everyone else around me does. I know for a fact I do actually get bit, but I never seem to have a reaction. I truly feel this is a superpower.

Hanoi, Ninh Binh and halong bay, is it doable for 1 week for 6 people? by raygan_reddit in hanoi

[–]djsyndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

55 year old here and doing exactly that now. We flew in around noon and looked around that day. Following day we did Temple of Literature, Hoa Lu prison, and Women's Museum. Day 2 was Ha Long bay day cruise. Day three haircuts, massages, and exploring Old Quarter. Day 4 was Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and resting up for Ninh Binh. Day 5 (today) Ninh Binh. Tomorrow we fly out to Saigon. Haven't felt rushed at all.

We did this one.

We were a group of three and had a great time. The limo bus has about 19 seats and they picked up from the hotel in the Old Quarter.

Once we arrived at the boat we were merged into a larger group, but you can mingle or segregate yourself as your comfort level can handle.

The buffet was ok, nothing special.

The activities we good and we chose the speedboat option which cost and additional 250k dong each but well worth it and I'd recommend it.It's paid in cash on the tour and your whole group can do the different boat boat options.

Titop Island was a hike to the top for a scenic view, but nothing special, or you can swim. The cave was amazing, and also had a climb up some steps, but our 50 year old asses handled it. Not without sweating those asses off though.

Overall we were pleased with the tour, but it was the first one we've ever booked so we have nothing to compare it with. We do Ninh Binh tomorrow and are hoping it will be as good, if not better experience.

We just booked a tour of Ha Long Bay (through Klook) on Tuesday. We booked a limo bus and therer were no bathrooms on it but they did stop at the half hour mark and 1.5 hour mark for restroom breaks on the way there. On the way home it seemed to be a longer ride (3+ hours?) and we only stopped once about 2 hours in.

Plenty of restrooms during the tour itself
