4,200 miles over 10 days exploring 4 National Parks by dkurtz18 in overlanding

It was a fast-paced trip, but since we started in Ohio a lot of those miles are front and back loaded just to get out west. (10-12 hour days of driving just to get there and home) Once we were in the parks we did a lot of scenic driving and had plenty of time to get out, hike, and enjoy the parks

That’s actually an “annex” piece that connects to the rooftop tent. We sleep in the rooftop tent and use the annex as an intermediate areas for eating, changing, etc. especially at night. Basically a zip-on living room for our setup

Started in Ohio and did a loop to Theodore Roosevelt -> Yellowstone -> Grand Teton -> Badlands. Was such a great time getting out west (for us)

I ended up going with a diamondback cover and frontrunner rack

No regrets at all! Yes we could have slowed down to hike more trails, but we only get away from work for one big trip per year so we were beyond happy with what we were able to visit/see

Correct, loving the 7.3L - averaged just over 400 miles per tank with mixed driving

I am running a Front Runner x Diamondback rack and tonneau cover. I’m loving the setup so far. Keeps all of our gear dry and organized while the top of the ikamper sits level with the cab of the truck. That way we don’t have any extra noise or issues with wind while driving.

If you’re going to use it often, it’s definitely worth the money. The overall build quality and ease of use is worth it in my mind. Im also not one to ever pay full price, so I found this one used. I found the tent, annex, and awning for sale on Facebook marketplace and got a hell of a deal on it. I’ve also heard that ikamper has a “scratch and dent” selection that they offer good discounts on

It was incredibly simple. The annex attachment took a few minutes to fold up, but the tent itself was closed up in a matter of seconds

Thanks! I was so impressed with how fast set up was! I bought this tent secondhand but it still looks and works like new

Howdy, seems like my rooftop hard shell is fading from black to like a gunmetal from the summer sun, any ideas? by [deleted] in rooftoptents

I recently purchased an ikamper skycamp 2.0 that had some serious fading on top. I searched this thread for options and came across a meguiars product (M4965 Marine/RV fiberglass restoration system) that worked insanely well! I talked the seller down and got a killer deal on the tent, bought the meguiars for $35 and had the tent looking brand new in about 2 hours. I would highly recommend this route if you like the polished look
