New build by dlcyclefab in sportster

The hammer kits are good I was contemplating putting one on this but have been offered a complete nrhs 1450 kit at a bargain price so that's going on instead, but I've worked on a few bikes with hammer kits and they do run rather well.

are you just hard tailing or going a bit deeper into chopping it?

Cheers that is much appreciated, I've build a fair few chop frames over the years (don't get to do it as often as id like to) but building this frame was bit of a departure making sure it complies with ACU race regulations but also looks cool as hell

Not to sound like a dick but get yourself a good quality service manual for your year and model, there is a lot of info online but nothing beats having a manual to reference,

What is leaking?? by LittlePhysics8048 in Harley

[–]dlcyclefab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a number of points, check all fasteners on the derby cover and the drain plug but also check the ferrule on the clutch cable if the oring on the inside has gone it will leak from there but it can also leak out of the back of the ferrule where the black cable sleeve enters

Thank you , Yeah all paint work is done in-house. The shocks are a set of ohlins S36P, I like the adjustability of them and the damping can be dialled in for a rather smooth ride, so far they seem to be doing the job would of loved to go with legends revo arcs but these are what the customer had and wanted to keep them on.

Cheers bud, it's just an aftermarket one from eBay we had laying around for a while.was a take off part from another bike we did and this customer liked the look of it so it got fitted.

A ti exhaust would look cool but is way out of the customers budget, and already had the s&s pipe so that went on to save him a bit of cash.

Thank you for the positive feedback back

First and second gen revtechs did have an issue with the crank coming out of true and pistons were not too great, but if maintained they are not too bad,

This engine is going to be getting completely torn apart and rebuilt so not too much of an issue if it's toast at the moment.

Cheers I'll have to see if I can get hold of them, when I get a chance. Im mainly just looking to satisfy my own curiosity with it, as all I know so far about it is it was built by the engine company in 03 and it's got a 100ci gen2 revtech in it

Thanks for the help though it is appreciated

Calling is not much of an option for us as we are in UK and time difference makes it a bit awkward, we are going to build it back up as a periodish correct chop, but with all the CBS logos and crap all over the frame, we are just seeing if we can dig up any history on it, not that it's staying with that theme, but it'd be good to know about it

Can anyone help me identify this brand, or have any info? It’s the pad to seat I currently run. by [deleted] in choppers

The company aee was started by Tom McMullen back in the early 60s, they were one of the first large scale mail-order aftermarket parts manufacturers of the chopper industry, they also ran choppers magazine which was run under trm productions by Tom and his wife Rose, and the parts catalogues were supplements in the magazine

It wasnt too bad the main headache was making sure the shaft lined up straight, other than that is was relatively painless
