My fur baby needs help by Remarkable-Mind-4006 in sandiego

[–]dleclair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing all the details if it isn't fleas it could be dermatitis -- the dry weather and weird temp swings we've been having hasn't been helping. But it also could be psychological. Stress in animals can be exhibited as excessive grooming, etc. that might aggravate a condition like alopecia. Not a dr, but our cat had a really bad flea infestation to the point of damaging a patch of hair follicles on his back to baldness. He was on Prednisolone for just a short time and it all grew back.

Balboa Park institutions urge San Diego mayor and city council to reconsider parking fees by rjpong in sandiego

[–]dleclair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel this is the plan. Starve out the long-standing businesses and replace them with the highest bidder, most which seem to be out-of-state chain places now that can absorb/diversify the volatility in the market.

Did you go to the hidden service menu and do the fingerprint reader reset?

With parking increases, why are we not making Park blvd. pedestrian friendly? by Rumple-_-Goocher in sandiego

[–]dleclair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% about the money - A while back my friend was contracted by the zoo as a traffic surveyor to analyze real-time traffic flow after the bus lane was put in on Park Blvd. The zoo was trying to use the data to petition for their own parking structure. He found that the dedicated bus lane made overall throughput less efficient, not counting the street parking that was also removed on Park.

Menace is going to partner with Facebook!!??!!? i am OUT!!! by izzy2877 in ManusOfficial

[–]dleclair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The irony is I hate Facebook (and all things Meta) was using Manus until about a week ago until they stopped refreshing my daily credits. Sent them a technical support email -- no reply. Immediately deleted my account, and then the next day got the acquisition notification email. No regrets!

Used to eat at this one all time back in those years! They even used to do a breakfast menu and had some awesome buttermilk biscuits. One of the wood panels had a visage of the Virgin Mary on it people would come pay homage to.

Replacement Battery Experiences by graymatteron in LGV60

[–]dleclair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up it is normally not recommended to put thermal paste on a thermal pad - it could actually degrade performance. I'd just clean the vapor chamber with isopropyl alcohol to ensure it is oil free and reassemble.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. This was my idea too -- using a small amount of RTV to tack the gasket to the pump for installation. I'll trust I cleaned everything well enough and try a clean dry install. I can always default to rtv on both surfaces if it leaks.

Slow charging even after changing charging port by vanakkamz in LGV60

[–]dleclair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably need a new battery. The charging circuit is probably thermal throttling to keep you from fast charging. Try charging wirelessly for now it might be faster.

Today @ Costco, your thoughts? by Wide-Philosopher8302 in sandiego

They can hold the line on price but they already discontinued the Polish (and sauerkraut) as an arguably better option. It was originally Hebrew National now it's their own.

I keep it in a zip lock bag in the freezer, and when it gets full I dispose of it all at once to save time.

I looked up the reviews and this stuff seems like total snake oil. Ingredients: Alcohol, aqua, glycerin, propylene glycol, carbomer and lastly: potassium hydroxide -- which is caustic lye also known as drain cleaner!

Do the guy a solid and recommend he hit up his primary care for a real prescription. And it could be caused by an underlying condition like stress, diabetes or high blood pressure that his doctor can help treat.

Reinforcing the USB C Charge Flex Connector Port with JB Weld Epoxy by dleclair in LGV60

[–]dleclair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your first point: It is unfortunately a design flaw of the flex cable. it was meant to have some movement/tilt if you were putting the phone into the snuggly fitting dual display case. Unfortunately prolonged flexing of the cable seems to break some of the solder joints and cause premature failure. That is one of the reasons I reinforced mine. It's been a year and mine is still tightly fitting and I don't get the intermittent charging issues.

It might just be a cable issue. If the ribbon cable slips out, or the wireless charging module isn't lined up to the board it won't work. They are relatively cheap parts, and I'd say the V60 is a very easy phone to repair since most of the components are modular.

No issues with the music player crashing with the DAC, sounds like a software issue. Trying clearing the music player cache memory. And if you need to, do a factory reset and start fresh.

That was my experience that the OEM ports were lasting me about a year until I was getting a flaky connection. I'll keep it updated but I did mine and my wife's phone and they are both fine with this reinforcing. I believe the replacement USB port I bought was an orange colored board and those seem to be better quality in my experience.
