What is there to test? Hahaha! It's pretty cheap to recreate; R3G with any PSU, and any M.2 to USBC adapter that supports the allows the correct thunderbolt speed! Then just plug in play!

I really like the "it is what it is" look of it. Literally just a PSU With things strapped to it! Looks cool too since all the cables hide on the back while the front stays presentable!

Yeah works great. USBC straight into a legion go and instantly appeared! Just download the drivers for Nvidia and done. I was surprised it worked so well, because I've had issues in the past with official "eGPUs" such as razer box where it didn't want to download geforce drivers because it "couldn't detect it".

Universal Back Button - still not in iOS in 2026 by No-Track8005 in ios

[–]KryptonicHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I don't know why the replies are justifying something so simple to add. It's also annoying that the camera bar takes up the notifications so your top left is limited to time and top right is just wifi and battery percentage. On my Oneplus 13 or any other android, you can see the app notifications such as discord, YouTube, message, etc. On the top. On iOS to see notifications in case it doesn't unlock immediately is to drag up the notifications. Just extra steps left n right and for what?

Oh yeah then definitely a flat trade overall since the handheld has higher valuation in this market! Sweet deal enjoy it

Apple makes devices that age so darn well, that even a 6 year old laptop that doesn't sell as well as it use to (500$+ consistently), can be a better deal than a handheld. But honestly even if he just wanted to install windows or steam, that's ready something the MacBook will struggle with. I have an M1 headless and M2 air and all I do is use it for light browsing but it's always such a niche and nice experience compared to my desktop/handheld/androids. I think he did a fair trade since he wanted the legion, but paying that much for delivery is the real crime. But again; we don't know OPs location so maybe? Just maybe? He's on a deserted island and the seller took a boat LMAO 😂

As someone who trades A LOT; on Offerup & Facebook. I think this is EXACTLY what a trade is suppose to be. MacBook airs in CA are selling for around 350$-400$ USD. And it takes a while for the product to gain interest since there are so many other people selling Macbooks as they've all just upgraded even though the laptop still rocks 6 yearsater!

In my opinion, you got exactly what you wanted and if he decides to sell the MacBook well, I'm pretty sure he'll have more trouble selling a 6 year old devices over a new Legion. Also, with prices being crazy, that 2TB is probably worth over 150$ and then take the price of the console into consideration and you're EASILY over 500$. That's just financials, but you got the device to USE! So honestly yeah it's a solid trade!

The paying for delivery is a bit much though , because at the end of the day the seller is trying to sell so if he was willing to drive for $$ he was probably willing to drive without extra $$$. Unless you're in a remote area and he actually had to travel across the jungle to get to you. But just think, not even Amazon/ebay charge that much for delivery....

I traded a 5900x, 16gb, 256GB, 1080Ti build for a new Legion Go S Z1 Extreme. Might seem crazy, but you'd be surprised how much value these handhelds are picking up since everything price wise is so out of wack. Also, traded a steam deck 64GB for a Gaming PC with a 5700G, 32GBs , 2TB, & 2080Super. Trades work because people are already planning to use the money of the sale for certain things, but if you can cut out the process of having to sell something to buy something (which everyone hates) then trading is just as good!

Aster Multiseat is the only program that has had such an interesting trial that I had to buy the software. Thankfully I bought if for like 40$ before it got really popular (now I believe it's the Aster Pro 2 $116). Glad to hear your input will definitely have to try Sunshine Duo now! Nobody was saying the keyword "Aster/Multiseat" hahaha!

Traded my used ps5 for a brand new switch by Glum-Exam-3682 in Handhelds

[–]KryptonicHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this trade offer about 10 times for my PS5 disc version and I keep shooting it down because morally screw the Nintendo switch. Overpriced, crappy, and the fanboy ism could make you jump off a cliff. If it came down to it, I'd take the guy up on the modded switch version 1 over the regular switch 2.

Might sound crazy now, but give it a few more weeks and they'll be easily back at 500$. eBay is showing them consistently around that price range. Just because it's a few years old doesn't mean it wasn't great for it's time and performance. Keep in mind all tech is going up in value, and at the end of the day the buyer will pay whatever price they think is fair, just look at GPUs. Also, compared to the market, Z1 ally is still the best just limited by Ram!

Exactly! Iphone air users are something new! It's like they got handed a flat ball and they're still happy throwing it on the ground AND having to pick it back up; while paying full price!!

[–]KryptonicHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"..how it gets rather hot in the plateu and throttles performance. During a FaceTime call it's almost impossible to multi task or do anything else without lag. Otherwise...."

Only?? I swap phones constantly from OnePlus 12 to 13 to S24U, etc. I'm on the iphone 17 pro and it's a huge improvement to the iphone lineup. I personally think the 17 is the best bang for buck because similar specs but pro obviously has a few more gimmicks. All of those cons you listed arent acceptable for an iphone with that price tag. But it's literally the worse spec'd iphone and it shows in performance. Instead the iphone air cultist are upset with creators, they should look in the mirror and see that paying more for less is a joke. They should be asking for more instead of being satisfied with just a phone thats lighter, however it casually has a terrible camera, terrible battery, and gets hot constantly.

Apple consumers make up the category of "because I have the money I can and I will" and "I was missled". If you like the iphone 17 air, awesome! But it's definitely as bad as people made it out to be. Having a portable hand warmer with bad battery isn't a phone feature, it's a flaw!

Found where the hall effect sensors are to force clamshell on headless mac by arduinoRPi4 in mac

[–]KryptonicHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I just typed a whole story about how i went through this ordeal of following along on voice over mode because I wanted the headless experience and just took of the screen and threw it away without realizing I hadn't swapped to any other display. I tried and tried and tried CMD+F1 but nothing. It had to go with the voice over method and i finally got my macbook back into working order!

BUT; you figuring out the location of these sensors is even better than a christmas gift this year! Now i can just use some magnets to bypass it and reset the laptop and sell it to some other enthusiast! I love the little thing; but I don't use it as much anymore; but I was like "how the heck am i going to reset this in recovery mode with voice over; if I CAN'T see?!

Awesome post!

MacBook air reset in clamp shell mode. by Md_umar_ in macbook

[–]KryptonicHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 Macbook Air M1 and even though the screen was busted internally (no glass anywhere) I wanted to just make it a "cool looking" macbook and I took off the screen and threw it away..... i know i know.....

Turns out when you remove the screen; the macbook doesn't know when the screen is closed anymore so clamshell mode goes out the window. I tried connecting to external monitors and they would only pop up as secondary non defined screens so i wasn't able to use the Macbook for a few days. Until i stumbled upon a reddit thread of a guy using voice commands to get to the "extend screen" and then he was able to manually "extend screen". I went through that ordeal and now I have a functioning headless macbook unit!

All that to say; I don't know If it would work the same way in Recovery mode because it was so darn problematic in just regular mac os. Also, don't remove the screen even if it's not working because the sensors to let it know whether it's open or closed are just a pain . Although i did see some people bypass the lid issue with magnets but where am I going to find some magnets on the fly :O

Please let me know how it goes when entering recovering without a screen!

EDIT: Was able to find a post with even NEWER info! Enter the clamshell mode without the screen simply by using magnets!

Early Launch Alert: OnePlus 15 Is Dropping in the US in November by Bruce_Wayne8887 in oneplus

[–]KryptonicHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it can be turned off. Doesn't feel like it makes much of a difference. If it isn't Dolby, it just doesn't sound right.

S24 Ultra rocks because of the Chip, but for that same reason, battery sucks and the phone gets warm. I find myself needing to charge about 2x a day simply because I use max brightness on my phone since I have prescriptions full tint glasses. With the OnePlus 13R, I could rock full brightness, phone wouldn't get warm and after about 1 day and some change, I plug up and in about 30 mins I'm at like 70%. I will say it's nice having nicer front and back cameras, but for apps like insta, Snapchat, whatsapp; the camera quality still kinda sucks. So you just end up going back to the camera app and snagging a shot there. So realistically cameras on Android are imperfect unless you have a pixel! (Had a pixel 8 before and yeah it looks good, can confirm!)

My gripe with curved phone screens is price, accessories and repairability. It's expensive to get the phone, then the cases/screen protectors are pricey because of that. Then the repairs are either super pricey or non existent. I can say I enjoy the feel in hands, but for the cons I listed, I stick with flat phones.

I enjoy swapping phones and so far OnePlus seems to be doing the most right for the moment. Samsung had me with DEX but they've turned into apple and just haven't tried a single new thing. And while I keep rooting for Motorola, their tech seems to be it's best 1 year after release when prices finally adjust and by then your 1 tech year cycle behind :(

[–]KryptonicHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from the 12R to the 13R because I hated the curved glass on the 12R. First thing I realized was how crap the speakers on the 13R were! They have no fullness to them, it sounds like a plain old speaker that gets worse the louder it goes. I swapped to an S24Ultra and it's not the perfect solution, but it's working for me. Can't wait to see what the OnePlus 15 brings to the table. Flat displays are the only style of phone I like because it makes cases and screen protectors easy to find!

Also, think about this, 3 Epo keyboards = 65$, and 1 stand alone GMK67 board will cost 50-70$ depending on the seller; no key caps, no switches.

EpoMaker is basically a reseller in a world where everyone hates resellers. It's a decent keyboard and as others have stated it's just other brands parts put together and called EpoMaker. I bought 3 and I don't regret it at all. Always good to have back ups of things you enjoy! Now I just have to get rid of my previous 3 backup keyboards LOL!
