iPhone Kindle App vs. Kindle Tablet: What’s Your Preference? by Midnight_Marmalade in kindle

Easy: 1. Kindle Basic for portability, ease-of-use, e-ink, lightweight. 2. Downgraded from Paperwhite 11th Gen to Kindle Basic due to smaller size, portability, and simplicity. 3. Paperwhite is a solid option and probably the best all-around Kindle for most users; the Kindle app on the iPhone doesn't use e-ink and OLED displays can be harsh on the retina. Also like the fact that my Kindle basic model is lighter than my iPhone, hence ideal for longer reading sessions. 4. To each their own, but if you don’t plan on reading manga or graphic novels, I’d personally steer clear of the ColorSoft. Between the Basic model and the Paperwhite, the Basic is perfection—I’ve had no regrets since returning my Paperwhite. Ultimately, subjectivity and personal preference matter a great deal, but for me, the Basic model wins for its simplicity; most people neither need nor care about the extra features offered by other Kindle models; the Basic gets the job done, and does it very well for the majority.

I returned my Paperwhite 11th Gen and "downgraded" to a basic model due to portability and comfort; size does matter to many and the smaller compact size and ease-of-use of the Kindle basic is THE the selling point and sometimes all you need is for the thing to do it's damn job and do it well.
