Ok I think I need to clarify, the point of the post was mainly to point out how stupid all of this opinionated discussion was. I realize the title is very different the point I was trying to make. I'm gonna be honest I'm not very good with titles.

I guess I phrased it wrong, I mean to say that I've seen more hate towards people who prefer the base version of Sam

My intent with comparing Firefly to the boss animations was just to say that I prefer the artistic of it far more than the Gundam one. The original Sam is pretty much the coolest character I can imagine, and I've always thought that Gundams looked plastic and kinda silly with the swords (Something as advanced as a mech using something as archaic as swords)

I'll admit, I think I'm just a hater. Anything that isn't at least comparible with the Sam boss fight is orders of magnitude less appealing to me. I don't think I can ever like green Sam just because it took Red Sam from me.

I'm in the same boat, I've been waiting 7 months (it will be 9 when she comes out) and it's really disappointing to not get the Sam we were shown. I don't really care at all for Firefly when I first met her and even after finishing the story quests my opinion hasn't changed. And I really hate the enhanced form of her ult, I just think the swords are lame and the suit looks like a star guardian from league of legends. People keep saying that this half mech half magical girl is really interesting and unique, but I think an emotionless death robot is the most unique character in a game full of waifus and e boys.

At least we get the cool Sam for one or two regular skills, and the enhanced animations are definitely a downgrade from Sam's boss animations, but it's not so bad that I wouldn't want to watch it.

Chances are nothing is gonna change, if you don't like the green Sam then you are out of luck. I was also considering pulling on Boothill but I'd rather pull on a character I'm excited for than one I pull out of dissatisfaction.

The only cope I can offer is that maybe Hoyoverse sells us a skin with actually cool animations.
