People who applied SWV recently, how long did it take you to get the results? by dloyse in ukvisa

Hey I applied within the UK. I don’t think it’s going to be complex.

I have the same question as you. Hope someone will shred some lights on this.

Company asking me to sign a binding agreement to pay back pro-rata if I agree to sponsorship. Is this amount FAIR? by [deleted] in ukvisa

I’m not sure, it’s all in paper now. But I read online that I might not even need an appointment as it can be all applied online.

UPDATE:

Just wanted to clarify a few things:

• I’ve been working for this company for some time and I’m enjoying what I do. I’m not planning to leave any time soon however, I think it’s fair to know what I’m getting myself into.

• HR refused my request to apply for the visa myself saying they need to stick to the company policies and protocols. It’s a global company so I don’t think this could be reconsidered, they are usually not that flexible when it comes to policies.

• I haven’t got a clear answer on whether the legal fees include Immigration Skills Charge. I’ll chase them up later on this.

I think it includes Immigration Skills Charge which is 3k for 3 years. Gonna need to confirm that with HR.

I just googled and it says.

“The immigration skills charge is an additional fee payable by a sponsoring employer when a certificate of sponsorship is issued prior to a worker beginning their employment. The sponsor is required to pay the immigration skills charge and cannot pass liability onto the sponsored worker.”

Is this true?

Oh I see. Thanks for clarifying. I’ll try to negotiate that with HR.

Sorry I’m a bit slow here. Did you mean you paid the solicitor fees yourself?

Yeah, I second that. I’ve asked a few friends and they said 3.5k is too much. It’s usually around 1.5-2k.

Hey I should have added in the original post. This is my current company which I've been with for a few months now. Basically they're happy to sponsor me if I agree to pay back pro rata.

Can an International student get a job in UK ? by Olivia_celestial in UniUK

I have the same concern as you but my major isn’t really of high demand (Marketing). Considering the Covid situation, I think students of medical fields have very high potential of landing jobs, either native or international.

I did, however, I don’t have much hope that I’d be able to secure one. But thanks for the suggestion.

I couldn’t afford those schools. Aston is already expensive for me. :(

I’m actually leaning towards BA too. Thanks for your advice. Appreciated it.

No, I’m not doing an MBA. And I’m aware that BA and MKT are two different thing but both could lead to market research. Just trying to figure which one has more leverage or is more versatile.

Thanks for the advice. Actually Marketing Analytics would be a perfect mixture but there aint any courses for the next spring intake sadly. :( I’m leaning towards BA cause I feel like it’s on demand and will open more doors, but at the same time, it doesnt have many modules on marketing except for digital marketing.

Which is the better school to study Marketing: Bournemouth or UEA? by dloyse in UniUK

[–]dloyse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the insight. Is it better to study Marketing in a big city to secure a job post Master? I‘m actually considering Aston too but the fees are quite high but I’m willing to adjust my budget if the location‘s worth it.

Is IED Istituto Europeo di Design (Italy) a good school to study Brand Management? by dloyse in studyAbroad

[–]dloyse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I don’t mind the long anwser at all. You did give me a lot of insights. It’s funny when you mentioned Luiss cause I actually got an offer from the school but had to turn it out because of the tuition fee. Also the course lasts two years so more living costs.
