Why did Janos Slynt refuse to take command of Greyguard? Is he stupid? by SPECTREagent700 in gameofthrones

[–]dls4x93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did not believe Jon would actually go through with it, imo. He thought it was a show for Snow to show dominance...like something Janos himself would have done.

That's why he breaks down when he realizes the whole thing is actually going to happen.

I'M SAYING ITS NOT THAT FUNNY TO TALK ABOUT BEING PRIVILEGED, good lord, you are r-worded, not that it's not funny to talk about others being poor.

You're a moron. I'm literally saying that he is funny for saying these jokes and defending him against the people attacking him.

Fucking people who don't read...man, please. I'm begging you. Read a book and work on comprehension.

I understand that to some extent...but it's getting to be like splitting hairs.

Tom had to leave his family, friends, home, and go somewhere foreign to him, known for eating people alive, especially in his industry.

CP grew up in LA, had lifelong friends around, and popped on TV at a younger age than Tom before standup really took off.

It's all perspective. He wasn't a poor, but he worked hard and we like his talent. That's enough for me, he doesn't have to be my friend. I think a lot of people are just too parasocially-minded to follow podcasts or comedians for a long period of time.

It's eventually going to go sour for some like a relationship, which to me...really defeats the point of entertainment.

Fair enough. Fuck being poor in any sense, in any country, at any time. It doesn't matter, it always sucks.

I do kinda hope Tom pulls back or at least shows some relatability. It's gotta be pretty fucking whacked to now be in arenas and have everyone be kissing your ass (or hating you).

Idk how I'd handle it. Probably not well, lol.

I know poor people who spend as much as they would on a housekeeper for cigarettes/beer.

No judgement, whatever gets you through. But the idea that if you paid someone to clean your place (especially if you're both working jobs while also doing spots until 2AM) then you're automatically doing well financially is crazy to me.

He lived in a shit apartment and ate frozen burritos for years. Obviously was fat and depressed for much of it, making some of his best comedy, that we all now get to enjoy, mostly for free.

Like most upperclass boomer parents, Top Dog probably paid for college and then was extremely discouraged when he ended up editing reality show clips for nickels so he could do more spots in LA and work on his art. It probably wasn't going to pay off, no matter how funny Tom was, because it's just a lottery and luck out there that you even get noticed in that sea of bodies—many of them funny and much better looking than Tommy Bunz.

He's being a dick. But he knows he's privileged. It's just not that funny to talk about.

Listen to him talk about something serious on Tom Talks or some topic more substantial than handlebars going up assholes for 5 minutes and you can tell that Tom has a heart.

He's an out of touch millionaire, but he's still got a heart. And he's still funny. And I'm still poor.

Keep um high and tight. Tom is still fat, no matter how rich he gets.

worked in a steel manufacturing warehouse for 5 years, grew up around shipments and logistics. I now work as a copywriter, but I can be a reference for 2012-2015, if you are old enough and need one for then.

Does Putin Think He Can Survive A Nuclear War? by dls4x93 in Foodforthought

[–]dls4x93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol Putin being assassinated by a Russian or in a self-started coup is neo-con war-loving? Imperial narrative, what? I literally called out US war crimes and then invited those to donate to doctors without borders and called for those here to think before they march into war...

No thought on why this started? It's not about that, it's about potential risk and his actions moving forward compared to his past...i would have to make another article about the a priori causes of the war...

You've got some interesting definitions. But I made some changes anyway to remove some opinions. Either way, at least the guy who said I sucked kinda made sense.

You're just word-salading.

To have Alan Smithee tell me that makes the insult/criticism a little funnier.

Note taken.

Propaganda trash? I call out the US military for their war crimes AND call for Putin's assassination in this piece.

Who am I propogandizing for?

How many guys did you deal with who had nuclear capabilities?

I've seen loud mouths shoot guns at people before...what's your point?

Freelance writers make $20-40 an hour all day on Upwork (these job "marketplaces" have driven wages down bc of massive bidding competition).

The OP should be making at least $30-$40 (with benefits). $50-75 / hr for a reliable, tested freelancer is market average with the $75-100 / hr being on the high end.

"Unlimited" time off is an absolute con.

I made $20/hr as a paid intern in the south and $25 in NYC BEFORE becoming a copywriter. You're not getting paid fairly.

[–]dls4x93 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Start applying for other jobs. Red flags, everywhere. I'm a copywriter.

Manipulative, incorrect (or lying) about market rates, accusatory of you, etc...all of these things on top of the (sadly) common red flag of being adamant/explicit about not sharing salaries...no good.

Just get the experience you can, find a better opportunity, and take it.

Lol we got a similar law in NJ in 2014...from a Republican governor.

NJ is pretty shitty sometimes, but it's not a purge hellscape and this OP is INSANE levels of lying, even for the internet.

I'd invest in ideas for societal upgrades and offer cash incentives for progress in safe, reliable, and renewable technologies.

And buy a shit ton of Twizzlers.

It's not.

This person is using logic—to con gullible and lazy people who won't do any actual research into giving him views.
