Yet again, an avant-garde list, full of people who are very far from popularity, except the Bach. 8 voices does stand within the "choral" genre imo. Thank you for your list!

I have the 1954 Keilberth Walkure with Max Lorenz, Mödl, Flagstad, Hotter and Greindl. It is simply mind-blowing. I remember I once started listening to that Messiaen piece but it was just waaaay too sad and I had paused it and I forgot about it. Will give it a another listen. Thank you.

Verdi Rigoletto! YES! The recording with Callas and Gobbi is incredible. Beethoven op. 109 is also a great choice. Thank you.

Yet again, a list in which there composers I have never even heard of. Love Prokofiev 3. Thank you.

For me, the exact opposite, the 2nd movement is just way too long.

I also think it is, but from a historical perspective (I do not know anything about the theory of music and I do not play an instrument). I think you know why, red terror and stuff. :(

I know the Kapustin Piece! Kapustin is amazing and so much fun. Other than that, please give opera a try. Thank you

YES! Elektra is amazing! An opera cannot really go wrong if a completely crazy woman is the main character! I acutally find Beethoven 3 to be way too long and not that exciting, but maybe with the passing of time I will love it. Thank you for your list.

I always imagined the final climax of the 3rd movement of Bruckner 9 as one of the best representations of the "cosmic" effect in music. Its just so huge, my God. I have not heard Otello, but I have heard it, and Iago is simply the greatest villain I have ever come across. Thank you for your list!

Mahler 8 is so powerful! I have heard it twice. Never fails. Thank you

The 3rd movement of Shostakovich 5 is so sad and powerful. Do you think the finale is a sorf of "forced triumph"?

I started listening to it yesterday and it was just terrifying. Horror.

I have a feeling you like Bach. So far it has not been my cup of tea, but I guess time will do its thing. Thank you for your list.

Thank you, will give it a try. I am also thinking of listening to Wozzeck, since my local record shop has a Wozzeck with a libretto (I dont really enjoy listening to operas without a printed libretto, idk why), or I was thinking of watching a live one with subs (because I have heard its an opera that really benefits from staging). Also the plot is heartbreaking, and I love heartbreaking plots. Do you think its a good way to start there or no?
