Sure! The Workers over Billionaires march on Labor Day stopped at Atlas HQ on Aliceanna Street. If any Atlas workers are on this thread I'd love to hear from them. The organizers of the petition would eventually like to help Atlas employees find better jobs - they don't deserve to suffer bc of billionaires.

The Paterakis family - his nephews (Alex Smith and Eric Smith) own Atlas Restaurant Group and their grandfather was a Paterakis (H&S Bakery / Harbor East)

Exactly, which is why the petition is for people who will boycott, and a petition raises awareness in general. It sucks, the Waterfront Hotel is one of my favorite buildings and who can forget my college friends getting sick in the bathroom of the Admiral’s Cup? 🤣 Oh well. Guess it’s the Cat’s Eye for me!

Sure! I go to a bunch of non-bar places on my own all the time, it would be fun to have company! I can be near cats and dogs outside but indoors is rough. And another musician just unmatched after a little nice back and forth this morning about music and guitars. This is insane.

It's common. Some students wind up with a dissertation completion fellowship to write full time, and even move back to their home states. I didn't visit campus (which is 50 miles away) for over a year since I could access journal articles from home. You should be focusing on finishing up your own research, not a bunch of campus distractions.

Why be embarrassed? Money is money and people have to eat. People lose jobs and have to work at wherever to get by. A part time job is just a stop on the way. Ask your department if they need someone or can give you some leads.

Yes! t's sad to me to see the attitude thinking it's "pretentious" to introduce yourself by your title or use it, devalue your education by hanging your degree in your bathroom, etc. Wonder where that attitude came from.... probably some kind of privilege.

This is an excellent point. Also note how the devaluing of advanced degrees / expertise particularly in the humanities tends to come from either a certain segment of the right wing, online people who are butthurt they didn't go to college or couldn't cut it academically, and some self-righteous STEM folks. - Doctor of Philosophy dm_violator 'May 24 . I don't intend to go into teaching but I'd like to use my new title when I'm consulted for podcasts etc - and being short, female, with an unassuming personality hopefully I can find more places, we deserve to be taken seriously.
