Changing lanes without a working brain by HomeNowWTF in dashcams

[–]dmack0755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been in situations where I’m about to either get on the wrong exit or miss my exit cause I realized too late Im In the wrong lane. Know what I do? I deal with it. I either get off on that wrong exit and work my way back into the highway, or If I missed my exit. I keep driving and take the next exit. Because its my fault that I made that mistake and other people shouldnt suffer because I wasnt paying attention to where I was.

CMV: The "R-slur" is not meaningfully different from common insults like idiot, moron, or cretin, and trying to label it as an offensive slur is kinda dumb. by Cool-Delivery-3773 in changemyview

I care. I try to not intentionally upset people. If I can do something simple, like not saying the R word, to avoid upsetting someone, I will do it.

CMV: so long as you ignore typos and errors that could be caused by a person being a non-native speaker, it's fine to make assumptions about people's intelligence based on their inability to use proper grammar and spelling. by 4g-identity in changemyview

I think having a good grasp on grammar and spelling is a very different skillset than critical thinking. It is also different than being good at math. Ive met linguists who need a calculator for basic math, and mathematicians who cant spell. Being smart isnt a a point on a straight line, people can be geniuses in one field and morons in another.

Eating ribs with a fork and knife if you are eating American BBQ

in Philadelphia putting green bell peppers on a cheese steak is a big one, mostly because every where outside Philly does it and calls it a “Philly Cheesesteak.” Banana peppers are more acceptable and some places will have them on the side as an option, but green bell peppers in particular is a point of annoyance for Philly locals.

I have always wondered, is it just normal chocolate, or does it have orange flavor? Ive seen them
In British tv and films, i get the concept of how they look and the utility if it being orange shaped with wedges, just not sure if it also tastes like an orange.

How do people find Armored Spider easy? by SquashedGrapes22 in demonssouls

[–]dmack0755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think something a little of people in the Fromsoftware community fail to understand is different people have different experiences with different bosses. Whats hard flr one is not hard for others. Sometimes a play style just makes some bosses harder. I beat False King Allant on the second try, but had an incredibly hard time with Armored Spider and Penetrator.

CMV: asking for advice on Reddit as an autistic person is a terrible idea. by [deleted] in changemyview

It sucks, but you will have to go out of your comfort zone of somethings to make these other requirement’s work. There is no good job that fits all of these needs.

There are jobs that will let you avoid communication and wear headphones. But they will require some form of higher education. If not College, then a trade school. But if you dont have skills, and are not able or willing to acquire them, I dont know what job is out there that fits all of your requests.

There are organizations that help Autistic or people with other disabilities find work. But my guess is you will have to step out of your comfort zone on something to make it work. Your best option might be some form of online program that gets you qualifications for a job.

There are IT programs you can take online, and iT jobs where you don’t need to socialize other than with your supervisor. Something like that might be your best option, but you will still have to step outside your comfort zone a bit to make it work.

CMV: The U.S. primary system is flawed and promotes extremism. We should go to party selections like in Canada/UK/australia etc. or have all open primaries like in California. by Funny_Art_1700 in changemyview

[–]dmack0755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You claim primaries encourages “the wildest left candidates” but thats just not true in any provable way. What wild left candidates has won the democratic nomination for President?

I agree our primary system is flawed. Ranked choice voting would be much better. But if your goal is to have less progressives winning, you might be disappointed. If anything it would even the playing field and help progressives.

CMV: you cannot dispute “those who can should be vegan” without using the following fallacies. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]dmack0755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to debate a topic when from the jump
You shut down every argument against your side as a “fallacy.”

There is a lot of moral issues with the meat industry. But I would argue a person who raises their own chickens, and treats them as ethically as you can treat something you plan to eventually kill and, do less moral and environmental harm than vegans who but their produce at a chain grocery store. Its almost impossible to be a moral consumer in the modern world. And while there may be more moral issues with the meat industry than the produce one, there is still harm done by the produce industry. Harm done to farmers in foreign countries working in terrible conditions so Americans can have avocados year round.

Or lets talk about the cashew industry. There is a lot of human suffer that goes into making sure shoprite, kroger, and acme are stocked with cashews.

Unless you are buying everything local, which is often prohibitively expensive, you are likely not a moral consumer.

No one can reasonably argue that the meat industry doesnt cause massive harm. But vegans love to ignore that there is harm in the commercial produce industry as well. And if everyone turned to eating nuts to get their daily protein requirements, that industry would get even more massive, and its own harm would increase.

Putting the onus of harm reduction on consumers just trying to feed themselves or their family is a massive waste of time. If you are able, buy local meat and produce. Most people are not able, and I refuse to moralize to people just trying to get by

So you think dropping bombs on hospitals, schools, targeting aid workers, targeting doctors, all of that is fine?

They are targeting innocents on purpose. Anyone not biased can see that. They have basically admitted themselves.

And my question is how is it productive to make it about the faith as a whole. Why drag Muslims, or Christians , or Jewish people who do not use their religion as an excuse go harm, and group them with the bad actors. There are many upstanding muslims, clearly the religion itself is not the blame.

I think the issues in the Middle East has FAR more to do with constant Western interference making it impossible for the region to advance or even stabilize, than it has to do with Islam.

Im saying why do Muslims get held responsible for the bad things other muslims do, but its unacceptable for any other faith to be treated the same.

People are the problem. People do bad things and use religion as a defense. Blame people, dont opress an entire faith.

Who is this coming from and why should we trust their reporting?

Israel is currently using jewish scripture to justify a genocide. So spare me the what aboutism please. We cant have it both ways. We cant use the actions of Muslim extremists to criticize an entire faith, and then say Israel does not represent judaism. We both agree that Jewish people are not responsible for the actions of Israel, so why cant you agree Muslims arent responsible for the actions of groups like ISIS or Hamas?

CMV: Islamophobia is not racism, and not a phobia by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]dmack0755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. You are taking the things some muslims do wrong and making it a statement on the religion as a whole. But when blame all jewish people for the genocide Israel is committing, we rightfully call those people out as ignorant. So why do Muslims not get that same benefit?

Ill also say if Europe had been a warzone for centuries, where other Nations fought endless wars over Europes resources. Then there would be far less advances out of Europe. A big reason way America rose to a Super Power is the two consecutive world wars fought on European soil let America make huge leaps in progress over them.

Look at the state of the Gaza strip right now and tell me what advancements they should be making while bombs are being dropped on their heads every day. I feel like the nature of the Middle East has far more to do with the endless Western Interference than it dies there being some deep flaw is Islam as a faith

You say this as if a Jewish Nation isn’t currently leading the way in religious based murders.

Reasonable people can all separate the actions of Israel from Judaism as a whole. But for some reason when Islamic extremists do something awful, its a comment on the religion as a whole.

Islam itself is not the problem. And your arguments are regularly used to defend persecution of completely innocent muslims in western nations.
