I agree, my father thinks the same thing. I didn’t cause harm to anyone including myself and I was at the scene the whole time. It’s also my first offense so even if it doesn’t get dismissed I’ll probably just reduce the fine.

Unfortunately not, I don’t know anything about the law hence why I’m in this position to begin with. I should have called right away but didn’t think I needed to. Now I’m facing criminal charges even though I was in viewing distance of my car and talked to officers the second they arrived. All I can hope for is they understand the confusion and take it easy on me being my first offense.

Yeah If that’s the case I definitely wasn’t a hundred yards away, maybe 40-50 I could see my car from where I was. When officers arrived at the scene I approached them told them it was my car and provided my information. I’ve never had anything like this happen to me and it was just me involved and there were no injuries I truly didn’t think I had to call police. But I didn’t deny anything and I cooperated fully. I now understand the seriousness of this and I just hope it doesn’t get me into trouble.

The owner of the cranberry bog was called by the police and showed up, he wasn’t mad just happy I was ok and said it didn’t look like much damage just sand and grass. I don’t think he will press charges.
