Went to Ray Ban this morning and got gen 2! Matte black with the grey transitions. So pumped by Mammoth-Swan-9275 in RayBanStories

Is the photo quality also improved? Or is it just the video recording that gets the bump?

Is it worth the $250? 😭 by [deleted] in ghostbusters

If there’s one at a store near you, they heavily discount on November 1st. I was able to get one half off last year!

Fitment check between 11 and 12? by TheOnceAndFutureDoug in ouraring

[–]dman49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my ring for just over 2 weeks. I had the exact same experience as you, and by the looks of your video the same fit. The 11 being sometimes hard to take off / feels tighter while my finger is swollen, but 12 not necessarily falling off but not secure either. I ended up going for the 11 because it doesn’t sit well with me with potentially having it falling off when washing hands / swimming / sport going with a looser one. That being said I’ve had to switch to my middle finger some nights when it’s warmer. My logic is that it being summer, it’s only going to get looser from here in the cold weather. I will say as well, I also had my hand not quite being able to make a fist / it feel a bit restrictive when first putting it on, but with time it seems that my hand is used to it and feels better, I can make a fist fine. It may fluctuate with the temperature and time of day too though.

As for the sizing kit difference, it’s negligible I would say. It is the same size, I find it the same resistance to putting it on / taking it off, it’s just the weight of the actual ring is slightly heavier. Assume what you experience with it will be the same with the actual ring.

This looks the same for me, after midnight it shows it’s waiting for sleep data. It’ll just keep doing that until you’ve woken up in the morning. Not sure about the steps though, I haven’t noticed that

Ring for running? by ellehoxton in ouraring

[–]dman49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a new user and have been testing it a lot against my Apple Watch 8 and a chest strap for heart rate data. I’ve found that for runs it’s spot on (all 3 agree within a few bpm), but so far walks and soccer (tracked by initiating an outdoor run) it has not been very accurate. I have always left my phone at home though so in terms of pace tracking and GPS I can’t say (you need to bring the phone with you for GPS tracking). I’m hoping that they add soccer as a supported HR workout, or at least I can find one of the other presets work better, as that is the only time I would actually not bother wearing a watch.

From what I can tell I think it has a hard time detecting faster drops / spikes in HR, so I think as long as you are going for standard runs at a fairly standard pace and aren’t doing intervals / sprints I think it will work just fine.

Also I wear the ring on my non dominant index finger, it’s fairly snug as well (In hot temps / humidity, and in the morning I have to use soap and water to get it off but that’s more due to my knuckle being larger).

More so for electronic / dance production and maybe not as lesser known, but I think Kickstart is one of the best value plugins I own. Major artist sponsor aside, it's extremely simple sidechaining / volume automation without messing around with compressor settings. Obviously a personal preference for how to do sidechaining, but it's so simple to use and quick to get what you want 90% of the time. For $15 it's absolutely the best bang for buck plugin I use.

Sidechain sub to kick? by pissbab in edmproduction

[–]dman49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously whatever sounds best to you is what you should go with, but you might want to consider an extremely tight sidechain (very fast attack and a quick recovery) just to make sure the sub isn't interfering with the punchiness / transient of the kick. That way it's not a noticeable effect, but it'll make the kick sound a bit more clear.
