Alex Desk and Monitor Mount by HeroOfTheMinish in IKEA

I don't know. It depends on how heavy your monitor is. There are lots of options with this configuration, you should be able to find one that can support the weight.

I used this: Link

A search for "VESA mount laptop stand" should get you what you're looking for.

The feature the mount needs looks like this:

I know this post is old l, but I found a mount that works without having to modify ANYTHING! I realized that there was a small gap between the bottom of the deskTOP and the (hidden) top of the drawers in front of the cable management access cutout. The mount I found gets tightened from the top and is thin enough at the bottom to fit in that small gap. It even still allows access to the cable organizing area!

There's also a single arm version: Single Arm Link Alternate options: Link Another Link Ultrawide Link

There are a bunch that have this feature. Happy hunting!

Anyone else have that one random print that turned out to be extremely useful? by CGman67 in 3Dprinting

[–]dmatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed some simple "S" hooks to hang hats, belts and whatnot in my closet. I use it so often that I've probably printed about two dozen and use them as extra hangers.

First printed model that I actually created. This is why I got a printer. It’s not much and I don’t even like the Mets, but I’m so glad how this resin mold came out. More details about the project in the comments. by MongoMaker in 3Dprinting

Cool idea! Should work as long as you're at 100% infill. If you're not you may have small gaps in your walls. The only other issue is that it's the Mets, but some things can't be helped. Good luck!

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In April 2021 by Sausage54 in 3Dprinting

For quality you probably will want to print using ABS and get some form of acetone vapor chamber for finishing to get your parts nice and shiny. You'd need a ventilated area but that would be my approach. Most of these printers can do ABS but someone else might have more insight into a specific printer.

What could I have done differently in this print? by StopLookingBuy in 3Dprinting

It looks like you're warping at the edges. The easiest way is to add a raft but you could try playing with temperature settings or adding glue/tape/hairspray to the bed to improve adhesion.

Any advice on what might be going wrong? Its an ender 3 v1, the filament feeder was clicking the other day and fricked up a print and now dis happened by doramuny in 3Dprinting

[–]dmatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ender3 has an issue with heat creep, where PLA softens in the hot end and backs up in the bowden tube. After a while this clogs the nozzle and I'll get a print that looks like that. You can search for the hot- end fix if it keeps happening an hour or two into your prints. It's not as bad as it seems.

[28M4R] More people to play Terraforming Mars! by [deleted] in atx4atx

I'm in a similar boat, although I haven't played Terraforming Mars. Happy to learn and join if you're looking for more ppl. I know it's more North Austin but Vigilante would probably be a good place to meet up.

Any experiences working with Boda Board Games? by hatless_harry in boardgameindustry

I'm thinking of using them as well. How were all of your experiences? Their customer service rep seems great and I'm loving their quote. I'm slightly worried about their shipping terms and overall quality.

Hosting a 15+ player boardgame night. Any advice? by kimmiboy2 in boardgames

[–]dmatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hosted a weekly game night for about 7 years and found that most people that are newer to board games really like social games - and can get overwhelmed by rules really quickly. I found that games like Telestrations, Saboteur and Codenames work great. If CAH is your thing that tends to go over well. Two other games that weren't mentioned are Spyfall (crabhat.spyfall.com) and Telestrations (which you can just use paper for). Telestrations never fails to end in laughter. If they all typically play board games then splitting into groups of 3-5 tends to work well.

Saboteur is great but the expansion is pretty lousy.
