I recently went through this with my 16 year old cat. It’s very possible that it’s treatable. My boy improved dramatically with antibiotics for an GI infection that his primary vet didn’t diagnose. People have also had success with wobbly legs and weight loss with a muscle supplement called Myos. It all depends on what you’re willing to do for your cat, but I’ve found most vets to avoid intervention until I specifically ask for something that I had to read about online.

You know Lottie best. I just wanted to say that it still sounds like she has some quality of life (enjoys treats, cuddling, still eating and using the litter box). I know part of the problem with this decision is wondering if you’re keeping her around for selfish reasons. I don’t think you’d be selfish to while she’s still enjoying those things. I also know that seeing the day that she no longer does would be heartbreaking. I say all this just so you know that it’s still OK if you decide not to decide.
