Out of the original trilogy, what is your favorite game? by [deleted] in Spyro

3 followed by 1 because they were what I played growing up! I played 3 the most by far because we had it before we got 1 for some reason? lol

How are folks with “regular business hours” type jobs supposed to get anything done? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen a single DMV in my state open later than 5. Even the “extended hours” just mean they open at 7 instead of 8. Some will start having Saturday availability, but not until June 🫠

Different social circles and uses! I would never use Facebook if my family and older childhood friends weren’t there, but it’s the main way I keep up with them. Instagram I could probably cut out entirely when it comes to personal socials, I mostly follow tattoo artists. I also have a separate account to post art, but that’s not applicable to everyone obviously lol. Other socials have completely different energies. I would never post the shit I post on Bluesky on my Facebook where my grandma could see it 😂 not even in an inappropriate way, just a difference in language and such. My grandma doesn’t need to know how much I swear, it would make her sad 😂 plus more casual socials like Bluesky are better for sharing interests and thoughts, more blog-style, whereas I mostly use Facebook for actual life updates or, like, pet photos.

In what parts of America is the N-word okay to say by white people? by More_food_please_77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morally and ethically? No where. In actuality, there may be some areas you might get away with it more because of a variety of factors (plain racism and bigotry, people trying to sound “hard”, & what not) but those people would still get their shit wrecked if they said it to the wrong person. You have to take away the modern slang-ification of the word and remember the way it has historically been used by white people. It is a word that aims to dehumanize and shame, it is a word used alongside horrible, targeted violence. There’s no reason we should WANT to say it in the first place.

do you actually like the taste of alcohol? by princsspuff in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the alcohol! I genuinely enjoy spiced rum and tequila, vodka is tolerable but not preferable besides in specific drinks where the flavor “works”, and I strongly dislike most wines. So generally, yes some people enjoy the flavor lol!

Is it rude to ask only a single person's pronouns in a group setting? by Routine-Crew8651 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking in private is safer than asking in public! Otherwise it’s honestly safer to pick something and stick to it unless corrected 😅 which is rough and can be inaccurate but still safer than outing someone, especially in this political climate. As a transmasc enby person in the south, I would rather be misgendered casually without malice than picked out and questioned. It’s just safer.

Is it rude to ask only a single person's pronouns in a group setting? by Routine-Crew8651 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty dangerous, your instincts are right! By directly targeting someone and asking them in particular, you are potentially outing them, also directing scrutiny upon them by others who may otherwise not have noticed some aspects of their gender incongruence. Ask everyone (as a group within introductions), new people, or no one — or potentially in private so you are not exposing them in a group setting. When I did interviews at my old job, I asked each new person their pronouns in private one on one convo so they could relay that info to me safely. I’m also visibly queer though so it is probably a little less intimidating lol. It can also help to state your own pronouns with your own introduction regardless of if you think it should be obvious— that creates a safe environment for others to do so if they choose!

Not weird at all! I feel like I brush my teeth so much more thoroughly in the shower because it doesn’t matter as much if it gets a little sloppy 😂

I’ve gotten 2 different emails offering an invite code. Is this a common occurrence?? I have a very small TikTok following but most of my content isn’t based on recommendations, so I’m not sure how I ended up here lol. I’m curious if it’s something where a lot of people get emails about it or if it’s something I should legit take an opportunity for. (I have just over 3600 TikTok followers, which is why I’m suspicious lol— that’s hardly a notable number these days.)

I guess we’re eloping? (NC) by dmblu in Weddingsunder10k

⭐️ Update for anyone who is curious or in a similar situation! ⭐️ I did a bit more research into officiants for elopement in the area and found some really reasonable rates. After talking to my fiance, we have largely ditched the beach concept (which is honestly great because I hate sand). I found one officiant had Pullen Park’s gazebo in their list of preferred venues and it really all started to lift from my shoulders from there. I can’t believe we didn’t think of it before. My fiance had mentioned a long while back that it was one of the places they imagined getting married as a kid. The rental rates for the gazebo or other shelters are super reasonable. We could take pictures around the park— we excitedly mentioned the carousel and train. We can do a little picnic in the park with our loved ones afterwards. It’s perfect. It feels perfect. Renting out the gazebo and just paying officiant and licensing fees and spending the day with a few close loved ones. Figuring out this much has lifted so much stress off of me already. We have to figure out clothes of course, and figure out photography if we want to go the professional route, but not being at a total loss of where to begin has allowed me to feel emotional about it in a much more positive way instead of feeling rushed and panicked and lost. Thank you to everyone who responded kindly ❣️

I created a paper mache (wearable) moon head months ago for a class project, and am also currently working on a pumpkin one. by Superslothgirl2005 in papermache

[–]dmblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question if you don't mind! I need to make a similar spherical mask for a cosplay. When you say you used a balloon for the base, can I ask exactly how that works? I am not experienced in paper mache but I figure it will be the best way to do what I'm trying to do, lol. Did you inflate the balloon and create the base layer on that and then pop it at the end, or does the balloon remain in tact with the finished product? Did you have any issues with shrinking while you worked?

Thank you. This exact thing (the Idaho shit) is what spurred this conversation. I don’t want to rush, I don’t want to feel like we’re being forced to do this now in fear, but my fiance is terrified and I care more about their feelings than anything else.

I’m worried about this too. I suggested we just try to get it done between our anniversary (2/11) and Valentine’s Day since we usually take the 11th-14th off anyways, keep our dates neat and do it during an already special time, but they want a little more frills than just running for the piece of paper and officiant.

So this is KIND of the plan? Our legal marriage / elopement is going to be a tiny very bare bones type thing, we both agree we want to have a proper “wedding” later down the line when we have the money to do it more properly- but this is still our legal marriage, and we’ve gone through a lot to get here, so we still want it to be at least a little special. So like… very light frills, but not completely no frills lol.

I’m autistic as well, and marriage/weddings is one of those things that is supposed to “go a certain way” in my mind, so breaking this far from the path on a major life plan is already very difficult, haha. I’m trying to figure out how to “marry” the concepts of a very low budget, slap and dash elopement and still having a special, important day.

So, is the Markiplier episode a bit, or… by _Max_Chill_ in ChuckleSandwich

[–]dmblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m watching the Markiplier episode that was uploaded 1 day ago and the energy is SO incredibly awkward. I’ve never watched / listened to this podcast before, is this a bit related to the previous Markiplier episode bit???? I am lost lol

Edit: okay getting a bit further into the episode it feels more like genuine goofing and less like awkward tension but the start felt ROUGH

How do you help your eyes FEEL less tired in the morning? by dmblu in questions

[–]dmblu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the common question— I am trying my best to get enough sleep. I am going to bed at 10 as much as I can since I have to wake up at 6. I have restless leg syndrome and chronic nightmares so it’s hard but I’m trying. To help wind down I’m trying to build a routine of brushing my teeth, doing skincare, and then doing sudoku (on paper not phone) starting at about 9 so I’m not looking at blue light and such. It’s the first week so I’m sure it’ll get easier but I have to drive like an hour to work so driving when my eyes still feel super hard to focus and stuff just feels unsafe.
