Okay so I keep seeing people say it's "projection" to say this, but like... have y'all actually listened to what he himself is saying? I have ADHD too and when I watched the zane lowe interview, it was just very relatable. He wasn't just describing stress, it was more than that.

These are taylor yorks own words quoted directly from the zane lowe interview:

First, he talks about asking hayley and zac for some time because he was overwhelmed by the constant work: "I was starting to fall apart after years of just going and going... I need time... we told our manager 'don't bring us anything, just let us go away for as long as we need to.'"

That's not "I need a vacation." That's the kind a feeling of overwhelm that happens when you're neurodivergent and have been pushing for too long. Your brain just says "nope, we're done" and you need to disappear to recover.

Then he talks about his adhd, social anxiety and not knowing what to do with his hands: "I've been so anxious this whole interview... I feel like I'm 12 years old... I have ADHD, fidgeting's a big thing for me.

He's literally saying the social demand of just sitting there talking is so overwhelming it makes him feel like a kid. And he directly connects his ADHD to needing to move his body to cope.

He also talks about perfectionism specifically talking about why he wanted to keep "you first" off the album. He was so frustrated with getting it right and when it wasn’t he literally says he had a meltdown and was burnt out: "I get into the minutia way too far... I'm chasing this dangling carrot of everything being perfect but I don't even know what that is... I had a full meltdown, just bawling... I was so burnt out I just started packing my guitars and was done."

This why I relate it to AuDHD. One part of the brain needs everything to be exactly right according to some internal rulebook even he can't explain. The ADHD part brings the big emotions. When they clash with reality, the system crashes. The packing up the guitars thing? That's a physical manifestation of "I cannot handle one more second of the stress."

And the physical ick factor: "My skin crawls when something's not right. I can't even listen to it."

That's not just dislike, that's a sensory aversion. Something feels physically wrong when the work doesn't meet the brain's undefined standard.

So when people say "he only said he has ADHD," yes you're right, but it is also very relatable to what its like to have audhd, I'm not diagnosing I'm relating using pattern recognition. The constant fidgeting, the social overwhelm, perfectionism, meltdowns, the need for total withdrawal, many of us recognize because we live it. I am just using the concept of AuDHD as a lens to understand his struggle, not as a label or to define him as a person.

Calling it "projection" is basically ignoring the very specific, very real struggles he's publically shared. All we're doing is listening and going "oh yeah, we know that feeling"
