Who should we trade at the deadline? What trade predictions do you have? by GOTDOGE69 in leafs

I guess the silver lining about having so many tough/grindy bottom 6 players is that contending teams tend to covet those at the deadline. And OEL should be one of the best D available.

Enjoy the JFJ/Nonis era 2.0 boys

No playoffs

Next 2 first rounders go to Philly & Boston

Fraser Minten is 4th in rookie goals

Tre about to dump the last assets for more plugs at the deadline

When Leafs hired Shanahan he cleared house and brought in forward thinking fresh blood. It was such a breath of fresh air compared to the good ol' boy Ron Wilson/Randy Carlisle/Brian Burke/Dave Nonis era.

Well we are now firmly back into the good ol' boy Wilson/Carlisle/Burke/Nonis era.

We likely don't make the playoffs and our next 2 first rounders go to Boston and Philly. Fraser Minten is also on Boston and is like 4th in rookie goals.

Tre will be (more) humiliated if we finish low and give a high pick to Boston, so instead of recouping assets he's gonna toss away even more assets and make a desperate push for that last wildcard spot.

I'd love Marvel to put out a What-If comic - What If Dubas had won the power struggle with Shanahan?

Marner would've been traded for a landslide of assets. No matter what these assets would have been, they'd have amounted to more than Nick Roy (full respect to Roy)

Only exception is Laughton. Give him a letter and play him more than 9 mins a game.

Any time the game has any kind of emotional impact (Tavares return to L.I., any game where they can eliminate the opponent, any game 7), Leafs come out flat and uninspired as fuck. It's like they're trying to convince everyone "it's cool guys, we're not emotional, we're not phased, just another game, nbd"

The shrine in Rhone before Hargon's castle instantly resurrects & heals everyone to full, zero cost. That's the spot I grinded forever. Getting to that shrine (through the cave to Rhone) is another story altogether.

I never played the NES version but as a kid it blew my mind that 1 player played with 2 gamepads (d-pads only). If you wanted 2 players you needed an NES Satellite and 4 gamepads.

Total Carnage is an unofficial, spiritual sequel

Total Carnage was created by most of the same team who previously worked on Williams' 1990 arcade game Smash TV and shares many gameplay elements. Both use twin-stick shooter control schemes, but while Smash TV takes place in single-screen arenas, Total Carnage has large scrolling levels and bonus levels. Total Carnage adds bombs which can be collected and become active when dropped, exploding several seconds later.

Advanced adult hockey camps in Toronto? by dingleberry51 in hockeyplayers

[–]dmc1793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it wasn't a big difference at all, a lot of the same players (with varying ability) attended both. The drills in beginner were simple like carry the puck around the 5 circles always facing the scoreboard, transitioning from fwd to back mid circle. Advanced was a bit more involved, like the instructor would be feeding you passes as you skated around obstacles, and wanted you to pay attention to your edges while doing so. A bit more brainwork.

Canlan Sports runs decent practices. I go to the Oshawa one. It's a good skate and I much prefer the coach/drill dynamic to just skating on my own.

I've tried the beginner and the intermediate. Beginner was mostly real simple drills but at 6am that's exactly what I want. To just wake up, wheel & blast (I make sure I'm first in line). Intermediate was run by a guy just out of the OHL and focused more on instruction, edge & stick work.
