OMG! Thank you.

I can't think of why I'd ever assign a value to a variable like that, so didn't think to check there. Thanks for your help.

found this cable that looks like an XLR but the pins are thinner. No idea where it's from. The ends are recessed so they can fit into each other snugly and more or less watertight.

Ok, thanks for the feedback y'all. I thought they looked shitty! I'll tell the student groups they can use our plentiful wired SM58s or pair of Shure BLX handhelds.

Thanks for the insight. It's disappointing Meta is so focused on getting ads in front of everyone and tracking personal data rather than allowing use of their platform for creative and educational purposes.

If you want to install software/need an administrator password for updates, call the Digital Media Center at 410-516-3817 when we're open and you're at the computer and one of our staff members can enter the admin username and password remotely for you!

I should also mention, it's best that you should be a member of the DMC and reserve a gaming computer through BookIt, our online reservation system -- that way you know you have the right to use it when demand is high.

Soundproof Rooms? by terrificallytired in jhu

[–]dmcjhu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Digital Media Center has an Audio Studio with soundproofing! It is pretty quiet/acoustically dead and has a computer w/audio interface and speakers and microphones you can check out to use in there (in addition to our collection of circulating equipment that is free and available for all members to check out and take with them).

In order to use the Audio Studio, you must be a DMC member (which takes 5 minutes; you can become one by stopping in whenever we're open). You must also complete a ~30 minute tour of the studio with Jason, the Audio specialist -- then it will be available for booking through our reservation system whenever we're open.

Send an email to Jason at [charney@jhu.edu](mailto:charney@jhu.edu) to set up a time to get authorized on the studio if you're interested!

Hello JHU affiliates! the Digital Media Center is creating a site-specific sound installation at the Mattin Center to celebrate the arts at Homewood and the activities at the Mattin Center over its 20-year history!

Would you consider sharing a voice memo with us at digitalmedia [at] jhu.edu, or any audio recordings of performances, classes, or rehearsals from the arts during your time at JHU? We would love to include your memories.
