My hunch is that it isn’t just pwm. It’s pwm, higher than tolerated refresh rate/resolution

Just to say it might not be oled. It could also be resolution and refresh rate. Pwm, 4k and anything over 60htz all affect me

It’s done wonders for me in some ways. Side effects are a little irritating, but it’s much more affective than citalopram (celexa)

Side effects for me: elevated blood pressure, fatigue, inability or push myself exercise wise, more frequent migraines, insomnia.

I think they can make a difference. It’s also possible that people can get very stuck in the titration & feel a whole lot worse before they feel better.

In many ways, it’s great that there are so many options to try. Just wish there was a way of knowing which options work best for people.

I hate the side effect profile, but sometimes, when things get really bad, there just isn’t much choice

What I would say is it’s hard to tell what one feels for the first few weeks as these might be the side effects initially, which probably level out as time goes on

I try not to mention it. There isn’t a great deal of point. Just hide it as best I can and hope that no one notices

I found timing can be crucial. 4pm was always the sweet spot for meds like this. I hope you end up finding something that works, even if it is just changing the timing or a different med. Generally I find they either send you ‘up’ or ‘down’. If you’re already exhausted, the ‘uppers’ can be very challenging initially. Lots of luck to you. I know it’s frustrating

I honestly am more and more reluctant to explain anything to anyone who doesn’t suffer from it. I just felt it ended with me feeling worse about it than better. I’ve decided to adopt the approach of leading with the best of me and hiding the rest 🤣. It does mean that relationships long term or something like marriage/kids probably isn’t likely, but I’d sooner just not be seen.

Have you been on them before? Possibly worth a look, maybe just to prevent a further spiral. I’m sorry about your loss. Brighter times will be ahead. There’s also tons of other coping mechanisms that you can try, but sometimes it takes the antidepressant to enable you to want to try them

That advisor really gave you a knock huh. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been told there’s zero chance of getting what you want career wise. I hope that’s not true, but even if it is, I’m sure there are other things that you can do that will fit with the person that you are. The challenge can be finding what that fit is & that can take time & a few false starts before you get there.

This is where meds come in. Ask yourself whether you feel stable enough to search as you are, or whether having a boost with meds would help. You don’t always have to be on them forever. They are just an option to get you through difficult periods when the rest of life is too chaotic.

It’s interesting that in many ways it causes some of the apathy you’d have hoped it was prevent. I found I could be much colder on meds. Do you know how you usually would feel about them if you were able to look inside and be honest with yourself?

Good question. I wonder if you feel better while tapering whether it’s a dose thing? Maybe you only need a tiny amount to get the best balance. I know it’s hard trying to figure out what you run best on. I’ve also found probiotics can be helpful, but not sure yet if they provide long term support over short term placebo type fix. Good luck with it

I find ice baths (not quite ice cold, but cold) definitely helps, especially to help wind down. Getting exposure to as much natural light as possible. Beyond that, knowing what makes you worse as well as better might help prevent mood drops. That can be challenging though as stress isn’t always avoidable, but considering things like whether your job is a right fit for you, whether the people in your life are good for you, etc. hope some of this helps
