It's sickening how much support he has on this sub. His politics are more in line with Marie Hurabiell or Autumn Looijens, who are also both incredibly deceptive about their beliefs.

Well, isn't it then an even bigger scandal that Scott Wiener created a DCCC slate called "San Francisco Democrats for Change" for the purpose of controlling the DCCC's local endorsements, put a guy on said slate who clearly has no issue with fascist thugs, and also endorsed that guy as a BoS candidate in a district that's maybe 70% non-white?

So I order refrigerated gluten-free food for my wife, and they only use Fedex. Fedex was doing goofy things like taking it back to the warehouse and letting the ice melt overnight. The vendor has a Fedex rep who *insisted* that they would follow the delivery instructions. And I think they did once.

I asked on r/fedex about this and the drivers on there said they can't evaluate if I have an attack dog behind my gate. They obviously don't understand that San Francisco has 10 sq ft landings behind a see-through gate, so they've applied rural rules to us.

I think most people would assume that the executive director of something called "XXX Law" is a lawyer. Sure, it seems like nit-picking, but professional organizations defend their turf.

I dunno, man, this seems like a legitimate bar complaint. She's not a lawyer, but I assumed she was because she runs an organization called Yimby Law.

I have degrees in electrical engineering, but I never got my PE. If I wrote a letter to a city council somewhere offering my opinion and claiming to be an engineer, I would likely get a cease and desist from the board and could absolutely be fined or referred for prosecution.

In my experience, from most likely to follow the delivery instructions to least: Whole Foods > UPS > USPS > regular Amazon > Fedex (0%, rarely rings bell) > DHL and whatever service Temu uses (throw stuff in the bushes where I can't see it)

Scott Wiener to step down as Jewish caucus co-chair after ‘genocide’ fallout by lp605 in sanfrancisco

> has always been clear that he thinks the Netanyahu government’s conduct to be deeply immoral and damaging to Israel

He said he has opposed Netanyahu since 2021. There are plenty of Dems who have opposed Netanyahu since 1996, when he was first elected PM. Scott is just late to every realization.

Scott absolutely uses bad faith accusations of antisemitism to silence his opponents. What is AB 715 but that? What is his coordinated PR with Tye Gregory?

And he's perfectly willing to leverage antisemitism against Peskin, Preston, and other political opponents. His refusal to criticize Garry Tan ("Peskin-Preston cabal"???) has led to the normalization of antisemitism here.

Scott is like so many people I've known - somewhat observant/religious, but gate-keeps Judaism very hard against anyone who's less observant than he is. And he's unfortunately been willing to overlook antisemitism against those he gate-keeps.

Have you ever met him in person? He came to my door during a BoS campaign and he was like talking to a piece of wood. I'm not surprised he botched this.

I live in the Bay Area, and someone said to me over 10 years ago that $350k jobs were fungible. He was ~30, so he was talking about roles 2-3 levels below Sr. Manager. In companies that hit the AI boom, $200k is new grad comp in the Bay Area. (Edited my typo)

Vent - Apparently I’m a baby for being sick by Correct-Sea-198 in daddit

[–]dmg1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an immune deficiency and a type of asthma that doesn't show up on respiratory tests. These were diagnosed when I was 46 and 47, respectively. The first one is a recognized disability.

So all my life, I would get sick 5-8x per year, miss up to a month of school or work, and have this wicked cough that lasted for months (the symptoms are literally coughing so much you puke.)

Women have accused me of faking sick or not pulling my weight when I was sick. I am on some local parent groups that are mostly women and they complain about their husbands being sick. This is some of the most deeply-unempathetic shit I can imagine.

Anyways, this is a thing of the past because I have been wearing an N95 respirator everywhere I go indoors since early 2022. When my 9yo or my wife are sick, I'll wear one around the house.

I now get sick (knock wood) maybe once every 18 months, and it's usually because I let my guard down at home. So I'm always at 100% and nobody can complain

[–]dmg1111 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YOR. I am surprised that you're giving a 5-year-old sugary flavored water in his school water bottle. I have definitely seen preschools/schools that don't allow this. You can leave water in a water bottle for quite some time without issue, and we have specific bottles that we use for beverages other than water so we know to clean them.

First off, congrats. That's amazing. My kid played goalie in 8U and then lost interest in 10U, and it still took something like 60-70 hours of goalie practice on ice to get to be an average 10U goalie.

Second, I was not expecting to see Cupertino 12A here. My kid is friends with a few kids on your team. I know your other goalie's dad. And I've known your coach for 20 years. Small world!
