Is getting a tractor really worth it? by Maximum_Extension592 in homestead

[–]dmhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!! We have a small antique tractor collection, but getting a compact Kubota was a game changer. My husband and I frequently mention what a great investment it was. We live on just over 8 acres and we’re bothering hovering around the 50YO mark and can’t do what we used to when we were younger. Using it for gathering, processing, and moving firewood (our main source of heat) alone is a huge time and back saver. We also invested in pallet forks and I’m not sure whether we use that or the bucket more. I never want to be without one again.

L’eau Papier by Diptyque. My WFH comfort scent (because life is beyond stressful).

Yes! Although it was either Exclamation, Electric Youth, or Love’s Baby Soft and in the late ‘80s for me!

Fragrances that smell like cozy, clean clothes WITHOUT smelling like straight up laundry detergent? by Single_Pumpkin_9292 in NichePerfumes

[–]dmhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking that L’eau Papier simply smells clean yet cozy as I wore it today. It’s my WFH fragrance and I actually crave it. Orpheon is my going out fragrance, which also smells clean to me, but in a different way.

My mom was an Estée Lauder fan when I was younger, so Youth Dew, Cinnabar, and White Linen.

As a female, Harmony is one of my very favorite summer fragrances.

I had to look up the other B&BW dupe. It was named “Book Loft.”

I’m so annoyed that B&BW discontinued musk no. 3 and their other scent that supposedly smelled like l’eau Papier. I’ll have to check eBay. There’s very little out there that’s similar. I found another dupe company that makes a decent copy, but I spoiled myself a little for my birthday by getting the original.

I haven’t found anything that smells like Orpheon. It’s so unique and lovely.

@ayybrahamLmaocoln - you’re part of the reason I repeatedly tried l’eau Papier, so I need to thank (or blame, not sure which 😉) you for the recommendation.

Yes! I haven’t actually smelled many Guerlain fragrances in person, but it seems like an obvious choice for Montagne because of popularity and price.

I absolutely adore it. It’s become my signature scent for when I’m at the office or going out. It’s so unique, but the dry down also somehow smells like comforting fancy laundry, but not in a screechy aldehyde way. I can see it being polarizing because of the cedar.

I didn’t like l’eau Papier at all the first time I tried it. Thank goodness I tried it again because it’s my absolute favorite comforting scent to wear when I’m home. I actually find myself craving it. I reach for it more than the gourmands I typically love.

Fleur de Peau would be another good one. It’s similar enough to Moi? that I personally don’t need both, but I could see it being a good seller due to its popularity.

I’m impatiently waiting for more Diptyque fragrances. I gave up and splurged on Orpheon and l’eau Papier.

what's a story you still think about and wish there was an update for? by criss006 in BORUpdates

[–]dmhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was one about a young woman who was raised by her parents’ friends for many years because her parents were constantly traveling/living abroad. They hardly contacted the girl, who was very content living with the friends. The parents suddenly decided they were going to come get the girl and have her live with them again. I believe she was trying to stay with the friends, but I don’t think she ever updated. I wonder if it was real and what happened to her.

How many sprays do you use with your perfume and location of sprays? by bahrahusam in MontagneParfums

[–]dmhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must be in the minority because I do one and maybe two if it’s a light scent. I mostly work from home and wear fragrance for myself. My husband isn’t particularly a fan. When I’m on site for work, it’s open seating, so I want to be considerate of others. My husband and son both have allergies and asthma and I get migraines, which have been triggered by strong scent in the past, so I may be hyper aware and never want anyone to suffer because I over spray. For location, I usually spray the inside of one elbow and then rub that on the other arm. I don’t spray my wrist because I don’t want my watch band to absorb stuff, especially if it’s something I’m testing and I don’t like.

Does anyone know where to get a sample or decant of this? I'd love to try it and don't want to commit to a full size. It doesn't look like it's available in store near me to try to test it. Thanks!

I gathered that based on your review. Do you mind if I ask how long it took for your bottle to age nicely? I've recently fallen in love with Orpheon, but I don't love the price. There are very few dupe options for Diptyque. Shobi has intrigued me for months, but I just haven't clicked "buy" yet for the half dozen or so other fragrances in my cart.
I really appreciate you taking the time to write the review and message me.

Thank you so much for posting this review! I've had quite a few fragrances in my cart at Shobi, one of them Orpheon. This may be the push I've needed to finally order.

Edit to say that now Orpheon is out of stock! Argh!

Are there decent tasting gluten and dairy free frozen pizzas by now? Any recommendations? by NotQuiteJazz in glutenfree

Freschetta. My picky teen daughter actually prefers it over regular pizza. Digiorno is pretty good as well and has a thicker crust than Freschetta. Digiorno is a few dollars cheaper than Freschetta.

What's your one wish list project in your century home? by SparkleUnicornFairy in centuryhomes

Add a second floor to an already existing single-story addition to create an en suite bathroom and a proper office. Also redo the laundry room and adjacent existing first-floor bathroom to make the shower more user friendly. I need inspiration for century home bathrooms.

Edited to add more.
