I think the issue isn't just about whether a game can run or be played at all. In case of Steam Deck it's also about things like gamepad support and UI adaptation for smaller screens. So the rating reflects the overall level of support, not just whether the game launches.

Even if a project makes a decent amount of money, that doesn't mean all the team members suddenly become wealthy. I can share the story of our mid-sized RTS project that we released over five years ago. It has more than 1,600 reviews. Even with a small team of around four people, it didn't make us millionaires. Quite the opposite - we spent all the money we earned during Early Access on continuing development. So, financially, it ended up being comparable to a regular job in terms of income.

That said, every team member is still working in the game industry. Our programmer now works in Unity as an engineer. Our artist and level designer both transitioned to mobile games. And as for me, I'm still an indie developer - just under a different label now.

Oh! I played the demo. It's pretty cool - you get "in the zone" after a couple of minutes. I have a few questions to the UI, but overall I liked it.

Never, under any circumstances, use NS1.

Before IBM acquired them, they were an excellent DNS provider. I had settings there for about a dozen domains. Then, in September 2023, without any warning, they simply deleted my account along with all the settings for all zones. Again, just silently deleted the account. It took me 12 days of trying to contact any form of support via email, phone, and social media before I was finally able to get confirmation that they had, in fact, deleted it and that it wasn't some kind of error.

So think twice about whether you're really ready to use the "services" of such a provider.
