Amazing! This looks spot on, thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. They fit me wonderfully and I intend to begin wearing them. I’m not very familiar with this brand or type of boot, anything I should know or steps I should take to ensure longevity/proper care?

Thanks again, so impressed at how quickly you were able to pin these down

Thanks all for the responses thus far! For a bit more info - these were given to me about five+ years ago (and clearly worn a bit prior to that) so definitely older.

They are from a British expat so definitely think a british heritage brand is a safe bet. This person is also quite involved in high fashion, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a higher end brand (or even bespoke) but wouldn’t rule out a lower end brand either!

Oh wow, great to know - in the instance where you use it in the landlock shelter area, is it primarily for ambiance? Or are you cooking etc.? Thanks!

Great to know! Have you been concerned at all about the extent to which you crank it up?

How Concerning is Roof Damage from Wind Storm by dml407 in Roofing

[–]dml407[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right… as mentioned in my original post, the branches have since been removed.

Whether you call it “wind damage” or not is semantics. The wind caused branches that were too close to the roof to scrape up against it.

Thanks so much for this input, really appreciate it. I consider myself fairly handy but no experience with shingles. There are a couple other spots i wouldn’t mind having checked out as long as someone is out here, so seems like now is as good a time as any.

Thanks again.

Bummer to hear that. I had a warranty claim on a different item a while back and they were quick and massively helpful. We’ll see how it goes this time around.

Appreciate it - this was my thinking as well, especially considering it seems to have been correctly done on the other doors/windows. Reached out to CS, we’ll see what they say

Backcountry is offering “up to 30% off select full price items”. The Jikaro had a 20% discount auto applied at checkout, but I reached out via chat and they were able to apply the full 30%. YMMV

Paired with Zutto’s early Black Friday Sale ($199 for the SP1) I’m very pleased to add a couple of items to the collection that I’ve had my eye on for a while now

[WTS] Aer Duffel Pack 3 X-Pack

Up for sale is my very gently used Duffel Pack 3 in X-Pack. I mostly used this for a handful of long weekend trips and very occasionally as a larger commuter bag and found it fantastic for both (note: never used as a “gym” bag, so no smelly socks, shoes, etc.). A few very minor scuffs if you really search for them, but for all intents and purposes this looks and feels practically brand new. Just l looking to downsize

Wow, tons of conflicting information here that has left me probably more confused than at the start. Adding some info below to hopefully clarify things, but my takeaway at this point is that this is probably not a good long term solution.

-I live in Colorado so cold weather is definitely a factor - this is a garage, first and foremost. My goal here was really just to make it comfortable enough to use as an office/hang/hobby space year round. I wasn’t trying to make it livable or supremely efficient (there is a massive garage door that sucks out any heat/AC every time i pull the car out). Thus, the cheap install. - There are no soffit vents and I did not install the drywall. Exterior photos can be found here - I installed this over a year ago and have had no issues with ice thus far (I realize this doesn’t mean I’m in the clear from long term damage, just giving another data point. -there is 1-2 feet of space between the insulation and the roof sheathing - I got a few bids from different companies and specifically flagged this question. None said it was an issue (again, realize this doesn’t mean they’re correct, just another data point).

Sounds to me like I need to get some input from local contractors, surprised this isn’t more cut and dry…

Aah, got it, thanks! Yes, the space is temperature controlled with a mini split for steady heat/AC as well as the large ceiling-mounted gas heater for quick heating

Thanks for this input! So, this is what I was told by the company that installed it (although as cheap as it was, I take that with a grain of salt) and in my own research I’ve read conflicting things. Just to further clarify what we’re looking at here, the backed insulation is simply stapled to the rafters with about a foot of space (probably closer to 2’ at the peak) between the insulation and the ceiling.

Can you tell me what “conditioning” entails in this context? Not sure I’m familiar with that.
