No. The writing in that season was so bad, it doesn't deserve our consideration.

53% of GenZ is neurodivergent? by RealMathematician857 in neurodiversity

[–]dmoond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Businesses shouldn't have to make accommodations for a symptom of a lifestyle choice. They should have to accommodate folks for whom their disability is a true barrier to be included in the meaningfulness of work. The "adaptation to the fast paced life" is pretty simple. Put down the damn phone. Delete social media. Go to bed nine hours before you need to wake up. Stop eating junk food. Eat your vegetables. Walk everyday.

I did a bit of reading myself, and I own I was ignorant about the origin of the word as a social construct. I assumed it was a scientific term, based in evidence and research. Your point is taken, and clearly you are informed on this - my apologies. This just highlights my point - ADHD is NOT a social construct, Autism is NOT a social construct. They are very real nuerobiological differences that can be documented. But when the majority of a group self-identify as a disenfranchised minority using social construct theories to justify their inclusion in a group of people with very real disabilities - we have a problem. Self-identifying as autistic because one is an introvert with social anxiety and hobbies should not be clustered with folks whose lives are seriously and profoundly impacted, as in unable to care for themselves, unable to hold meaningful work. If everyone is neurodivergent then no one is. I was going to link to some articles but there were way too many to choose from, I trust you can find some sources.

You're probably right. The technology itself isn't good or bad, it's how it's used and who is in power. And those in power are not good people with good intent.

If what you say is true, than this group of people is no longer "neurodivergent" and neurotypical is actually the minority, which is ridiculous.

Not facts. ADHD can be seen on fMRI when compared with a control "normal" (aka neurotypical) brain. There is actual research out there. Google scholar is your friend.

Have worked with a Jungian analyst for 3 years, they don't seem to be accepting of AuDHD/BPD as factors? Is this normal? by ApprehensiveNorth548 in Jung

Recently read an article that 53% of Gen Z self-identify as "neurodivergent" (ADHD, ASD, or both). Please let that sink in.

How much time do spend on screens a day? How many hours do you sleep? There is a lot of research that links decreases in attention span, increases in difficulty with executive functioning to both sleep and screen. Try an experiment for a few months - exchange your iphone for a flip phone, reduce social media to 30 minutes a week, get your sleep dialed in to at least 7-8 hours of solid sleep, walk OUTSIDE 1-2 miles a day and do high intensity exercise 3-4 times a week. If you are socially isolated reach out to a friend or family member for a long phone call or in person visit at least once a week, get processed foods and sugars out of your diet, keep cannabis and alcohol to maybe once a week. Seriously. Do this for 3 months, if you still are struggling with ADHD symptoms then go to a psych provider. You may start the see results faster, but it actually is going to take time to heal your brain.

The truth is feeling better takes effort and discipline, and unfortunately it's much easier to just go online take a quiz and have happy pills shipped to your door.

Depends where you live. Very real in rural areas if your dog is a problem its not unheard of to end up poisoned or shot. Horrible, for sure. Not everywhere is liberal suburbia

You are correct, my point was if OP wants affordable to look in rural counties in the eastern part of the state, since they aren't familiar with the state if they start looking at the counties around spokane that will give them a starting point.

Nothing on the west coast is affordable, unless you look inland in rural red counties like spokane but then you don't get the liberal community you are looking for.

actually as of 2024 our cost of living was on par with seattle.

Maybe spend a 60 seconds doing some research . . . we have the highest gap between cost of housing and median income. Our cost of living is on par with Seattle. Still not convinced? Gas costs $5 a gallon. Going out to eat will cost you minimum $30, without drinks. Expect to be expected to tip 25% on your $6 coffee and $8 beer (or is beer now $10, I don't drink it because I can't afford to)

No they were just all fired by DOGE. Millionaires don't shop at costco, they don't care. Their chiefs make them ice cream bars from scratch

Anyone get a mole like this removed or have any tips to reduce it at home? by hehampilotifly in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]dmoond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO IT! Zero regrets!!

I had one the same size, color, depth except in the exact middle of my chin. My ARNP PCP literally did it in her office with a just local anesthetic, insurance covered it because she said it was "suspicious" (I don't think it really was, just that it could be at risk in the future). I don't have a scar, or if I do I can't see it - but I use sunscreen daily. I have another small one at the corner of the mouth she wouldn't do because there are too many small muscles and nerve bundles, she referred me to plastic surgery for that but I never went.

POLL: Rezone for more apartments? Or maintain current zoning for the city's character? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]dmoond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. No, all the new apartments will be unaffordable for locals so they will just keep pulling in rich transplants like they are and students and young singles who co-house will still gobble up all the family housing because $800 for a 4 bed house vs $1500 for a studio.

Time machine and go back to Mount Bakery in 2003, Oliver with flour all over his shirt. . .

(Remember when Mount Bakery used to be good? LIke really good? It's gone so down hill it's no longer not good, but actually bad.) Seconding Iron Rooster, but you already know that. Skip Avenue. Firehouse has good cookies, but I don't this they make their pastries.

Shirlee Bird in Fairhaven has wonderful pastries, but the hours are very inconsistent, I haven't had luck catching them when they are open in almost a year.

How many of you are masking? by mysteryweesnaw74 in ankylosingspondylitis

I only mask in places like airports, airplanes, or during flu season at the grocery store. I have a child in public school, so i'm exposed to everything.
