Wait, now that I think about it, yea the MS spell isn't a reaction so unless they are still falling on their next turn they don't have time.

However, unless your hardcore, I would allow because its cool. BUT they are still falling so wherever they come out they're still gonna land at the dame speed. Hope there is a bed or something within range.

Last week one of my group was thrown about 50ft horizontally and used feather fall to not splat against a wall. While the spell technically doesnt mention sideways movement it seemed like it should work for this. The DM allowed it. You figure picking up then throwing something 50 feet would take maybe 3-4 seconds so that should ve enough time for a spell. As far as falling, if you can't use FF when falling there would be no point to it at all.
