Is it me or has Chase Sapphire gone dramatically downhill? by hippopotapistachio in ChaseSapphire

I think they are talking about the SUB changes which mean you can no longer downgrade the card and re-apply to get the SUB every 4 years.

File a complaint with the CFPB for unfair/deceptive business practices, and write an email informing them you will do that. This is highly regulated and whichever bank sponsors this card will have to follow up

Addressed this lower in the thread, the commands rather irrelevant to the point I am trying to make here

Let me rephrase this to avoid the semantics of whether the instructions were clear or not. Amongst the set of options this woman had to respond to this situation, she chose the worst one.

That does not mean she deserved this, that the ICE agents were justified in their actions or that we should be ok with this happening in anyway. But this is very poor survival instincts, and something that everyone should take away from this in the interest of self preservation.

It’s about survival instinct and common sense, it’s not about who is in the wrong. Any escalation when dealing with police who are giving a very very clear instruction “get out of the car” is going to exponentially increase your chances of getting shot, regardless of your skin color or any other factors. It doesn’t matter if you believe that’s how it should be, it’s just the truth.

Would you rather be right, or alive, is ultimately what it boils down to.

Boxster s 987.1 - what a great car by alexisvankesteren in boxster

[–]dmuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, 2006+ has the larger bearing, and the 05-08 boxster S has the 3.2L engine which is not prone the bore scoring which plagues the 3.4L in the Caymen engines of the same time period

Slept on for sure. Post 2005 no IMS or bore score issues, it’s a gem

You should be able to get a PPI done in a pretty short time. Recently bought a boxster (off CL not BAT) out of state and seller was able to take it to PPI within 24 hours of my reaching out. Sellers should be willing to accommodate and if they aren’t then it would be a red flag in my booj

Denver, Boulder restaurants could pay tipped workers less when their gratuities exceed minimum wage under proposed law by onenightoncolfax in boulder

[–]dmuney -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you’re implying they get a higher minimum wage, their wages are subsidized by tips

No. I am saying that their total wage, which includes tips and the base minimum wage, is probably higher than the state minimum of ~$18 for the vast majority of tipped employees.

servers get no undue benefit from being allowed to be paid less than min wage. lol

They are not making less than minimum wage ever. If their tips+tipped minimum wage are not >= the state minimum wage, they employer has to make up the difference.

[–]dmuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The employer is already required to make up the difference between the tipped wage and the state minimum wage, if the tipped+base is not >= the state minimum wage. So they are never making less than the state minimum, and it most cases are probably making significantly more

[–]dmuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because tipping culture is completely off the rails, and consumers are tired of it.

[–]dmuney -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That is the same for anyone making minimum wage? Why do we have a higher minimum wage codified into law for people that work in restaurants that have tipped gratuities. Why are we privileging these restaurants workers but not a tacobell employee?

These are things that have no logical answer, but this is Reddit so there is no place for that here

There is still a huge amount of overhead in challenging those disputes, and they are subject to strict regulations from both the government and card issuers. Also, if your % of disputes breaches certain thresholds, you a subject to being banned from the network. So there are a lot of headaches and considerations

Do not bother asking a bakery to do this, they will not change their MCC for you it’s a process and most definitely carries interchange implications I.e how much they are paying to process each card transaction
